Well I think that depending on how badly it floods , some girls may have some problems getting to the event! I don't think that' short hair is a problem. She can add extensions. I would recommend to stay at the hotel the pageant is hosted at if not near by. But you should ckeck booking since about 90-100ish girls will most likely compete. That means, room for them + directors + stylists + the girl's family x90 -- MORE INFO CLICK IN, 06/13/17 8:11:49pm YES, you need to stay at the POST OAK HILTON. Your daughter will see the contestants, can take pictures with them.. etc They will have a rate for the event. If you follow them on Facebook they normally have a link to reservations. Dress code varies. But most dress up. I would recommend the Prelims and the finals. Prelims are fun and you get to see ALL the girls perform. (NT) -- Texas Fan, 06/14/17 6:29:55am My best advice would be to invest in an amazing gown because you're going up against the best in the nation. There are many stores including Muzzie's, Elizabeth Anthony, Think Twice Fashions (consignment Houston), Terry Costa, Shimmer Boutique, Scarlett Anne's (consignment Dallas). Also get an interview coach and stay at the hotel. Interview is generally where they pick the top girls. If you go under a director you will have help rather than asking ppl here for advise and getting multiple answers that may confuse you. If you want to go to TX-USA over teh Labor Day weekend, do what the posters above said and stay at the host hotel, but you can probably get a cheaper rate if you don't get the pageant "discount." OTOH, if you want to be entertained with Talent, too, go to TX-MAO on first weekend in July and you could go see Miss TX Outstanding Teen. Same thingm, stay at host hotel in Richardson, but it will include Talent in addition to just SS and EG. Dress code wherever you go is as nice and festive as possible. I don;t think you will have time to do anything else, but if you come to Houston, for example, just check out the Friday newspaper and you will see other things that will peak your interest. They've had better turnouts other years. But that happens with any pageant. A generation is leaving and a new one is entering. Al though most girls they've had have been miss laredo, teen Laredo. Those should come back and compete in they're southwest pageant (NT) -- It was still a good show. I think they are doing a good job. But let's be realistic. All pageants are expensive. You can go striaght to Gail and the Crystal group (NT) -- Former, 06/15/17 6:50:13am Yes, I agree, they will send you everything as well as list of sponsors you can use. You can go local too, but they are limited in the title you can represent (NT) -- Ginger, 06/15/17 6:52:30am It's much easier to go out large no politics from small-town local pageants -- Just contact the local office, 06/15/17 7:41:10am Go straight to the Crystal Group! The money you'd waste on the local pagent can be spent on getting ready for state!! Most (not all, so don't get ugly) locals aren't worth your time or money. It's all about the director and whatever reason broght them to this point (meaning different directors have different reasons, that's all!). You also don't have to use their sponsors either. Subject: Has anyone seen the former Miss Texas Teen USA participant, Jillian Williams, go viral on the internet about the story of her having cancer and her now backwards leg? She stated she still wanted to compete for Miss Texas USA. I firmly believe she would be crowned Miss USA if she makes it. That's IMG's golden treasure.
