This photo was published on 9th July, eleven days before the final night. Nine international beauties who want to be Miss Universe, show off their charms on their arrival in New York. From left to right: Miss Belgium, Lucienne Auquier; Miss Sweden, Ingrid Goude; Miss Canada, Elaine Bishenden; Miss England, Iris Waller; Miss France, Anita Treyens; Miss Germany, Marina Orschel; Miss Iceland, Gudlag Gudmundsdottir; Miss Italy, Rosanna Galli; and Miss Turkey, Can Uysal. After a short visit in New York, the girls are off to Long Beach, California, for the contest.
