Bayaw (Brothers in Law) is an indie film starring Janvier Daily and Paolo Rivero which premieres as an exhibition film in the 2009 Cinemalaya Film Festival.
Produced by Climax Films first production, Bayaw was supposed to be 2009 Cinemalaya Festival Entry but failed to make the cut. Nevertheless, it will still be a part of Cinemalaya Cinco (2009 Cinemalaya Indie Films Festival) by being an exhibition film on July 21, 2009, 9:00 p.m., at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater).
Also starring in Bayaw are Andrew Miguel and Survivor’s Kaye Alipi.

A tribute to the life of Michael Jackson.
Back in 1958, Michael Jackson was born into a large family in Indiana. He began his musical career at the age of 5 years old and has been entertaining us ever since. Among his many achievements, what the public should remember is the contribution he made during his lifetime to the world of entertainment, rather than the controversy surrounding his life.
As a boy, childhood was filled with entertainment. As a man, this skill was honed and perfected, and it is natural that this extent of popularity and fame affected the character of the man. His striving for perfection was kept alive right to the very end of his life, culminating with plans being made for a tour at the age of 50. This tour was never to happen, and Michael died on the 25th June 2009.
So what is it that we should remember about Michael? All over the Internet stories unfold about aspects of his life. There was even speculation as far back as 2005 that Michael had died, followed by other reports of his death last year. What is it that attracts such media attention and why does Michael merit focus on the positive aspects of his life?
The reason is simple. This performer gave the public the majority of his life. It is the very least we can do, as listeners to music and as people who appreciate the personal sacrifice given by our stars, to remember him for the work he gave us.
As a lead singer in The Jacksons in 1964, many remember the innocent child with a voice which enthralled the public with its freshness and clarity. His contribution to Motown was extensive, though little did the public know the treats he had in store for his fans, developing an unforgettable style which was imitated by youth all over the world.
Stepping stone in his career led him to becoming a formidable solo artist, with albums such as Music and Me, Off the Wall, etc., though what came next was a revolution for the musical industry. Gone was the shy boy voice which heralded the singing of Ben, remembered for its innocence and simple approach. In came the milestones in Michael Jackson's life with the dawning of Thriller, which appealed to youth worldwide, with 7 hit singles emanating from this album alone, and sales which put him into the league of Superstar.
The dance routines perfected by Michael Jackson showed an individual style, but also showed the diversity of what Michael was capable of giving his audiences. The 1984 Grammy Awards recognized the value of Michael's performance when he walked away with 8 awards.
His career has continued to stun audiences, with video presentation for songs such Earth song. Listeners will also remember songs such as You are Not Alone, at a period in the star's life when he was possibly at the most lonely of times imaginable. People pointed fingers at Michael and much speculation surrounded the private life of the star who gave the world more than just songs, but songs which gave hope, inspiration and talent to people all over the world.
They say that Michael never grew up. How many could step through life in any kind of reality, given the background of a man whose life revolved around being observed by the public? What we should remember is the music, the dance and the personal sacrifice made by Michael to the entertainment industry. His life was a hard one and a very giving one which has left the world with volumes of music which pay tribute to his sacrifice. We should in short remember Michael Jackson as an entertainer who made a difference.
FHM Philippines revealed its gTempting 10 for the 100 Sexiest Women in the World for 2009 and the poll is topped by no other than kapuso star Cristine Reyes.
Cristine Reyes is FHMfs sexiest this year by receiving a total of 382,819 votes. Last yearfs winner, Marian Rivera, received the second highest number of votes with 282,300 followed by Angel Locsin with 266,233.
Since the FHM Philippines staff inserted the global winner Megan Fox at no. 2 in the Philippines list, the 10th highest vote-getter who is Valerie Bangs Garcia, with 179,198 votes, missed the Top 10.

Miss Puerto Rico 2009 Mayra Matos has been dethroned by the pageant organizer, Magali Febles, who is also the director of Miss Dominican Republic Universe.
Sources are telling that Mayra Matos has been stripped of her title as Miss Puerto Rico Universe by national director Magali Febles. It appears that Mayra refused to sign a contract with a clause that says, "You must not have participated in an international pageant that you won."
Mayra was Miss Teen International 2006 and Magali knew about this. Magali offered the MPRU crown to Mayra's first runner-up, Jennifer Colon, who sources say has flatly rejected the offer and that she supports Mayra all the way. It appears, too, that the contract has been revised by Magali, since it's not the same one that Ingrid Rivera had signed when she was Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2008.
But the Puerto Rican newspaper, Primera Hora just published today that Mayra's dethronement is a purely rumour, that she denies her dethronement, and that she will compete in Miss Universe 2009 in Bahamas. The article also says that Mayra has never received any letter from Magali dethroning her.
Manila - Tourists flocked to a Philippine jail Saturday to watch about 1,500 inmates perform a special Michael Jackson dance tribute in honour of the dead star, officials said.
The jailbirds spawned a worldwide Internet hit two years ago with their morning exercise routine using synchronised movements based on the groundbreaking 1982 "Thriller" video.
The inmates dancing to "Thriller" in their YouTube video that has received 23 million views at the moment..
An unusual number of visitors were signing in at the Cebu city provincial jail Saturday to watch the prisoners perform at 3:00 pm (0700 GMT) following the death of Jackson, 50, in Los Angeles on Thursday.
"Visitors have been calling and checking in with us for this afternoon's performance," said a prison official who did not want to be named.
An AFP photographer at the jail said visitors were told to sign in hours ahead of the scheduled performance to guarantee a slot.
The prisoners' dance found its way onto the popular Internet video-sharing site YouTube, where it developed a huge fan base. The four-minute video has so far generated more than 23 million hits.
The inmates in their saffron uniforms have themselves become tourist attractions, with visitors allowed to have their pictures taken with the dancers after each performance.
Choreographer Byron Garcia, a prison consultant and the brains behind the dance exercise, said he was shocked by Jackson's death and that many of his wards were grief-stricken.
"I am shocked, the inmates are still in grief after learning that their idol is already dead," Garcia told AFP.
He said the inmates had performed the routine for visiting tourism officials on Thursday afternoon, just hours before Jackson died.
PRIMO is an all-male Filipino vocal trio composed of Jon Joven, Floyd Tena and James Uy. The group sings crossover songs from classical - pop - power ballads - to rock in different languages.

Biglang nag-make face ang isang bading na isang secretary sa isang hotel at sabay tsika sa amin..."ay naku, humiwalay na ako sa grupo, dahil hindi na ma-accounted ang pera. SR 7K na ang nawala." VietNamNet Bridge - The Vietnamese designer Nguyen Cong Tri and ABC Ao Dai will take care of costumes for the Vietnamese contestant, Vo Hoang Yen, at the 2009 Miss Universe pageant over August 1-23.
Designer Cong Tri will prepare 12 dresses for Yen for some selected events, while ABC will complete the ao dai for the traditional costume event.
Discussing the dresses, Tri said: “Yen possess a good body and white skin, and all my designs for her at the pageant will probably make her more charming among the other contestants.
“The highlights will be two evening dresses for the final night with my best design and best materials.”
Meanwhile, Dinh Van Tho, a spokesperson for ABC, said: “We will keep all the traditional beautiful designs on the ao dai for Yen, but we will also add some modern patterns and use new materials to make it fit modern fashion.”
All the designs will be finished before July 20 and Yen will introduce all of these to the local audiences via the media.
Duc Tri is one of the most popular designers in Vietnam with various awards, including second prize at the 2001 Fashion Collection Singapore and Bay FM Award at the 2000 Asia Collection Makuhari in Japan.
In early 2009, Tri presented his collection “Love story” in France and received a lot of positive feedback from the locals.
ABC Ao Dai is popular for its designs with contestants at local and international beauty pageants, including 2007 Miss Earth, 2008 Miss Universe Vietnam and 2008 Miss World.

Neither one of them strangers to the strangest of headlines, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears also shared a stage.The duo performed "The Way You Make Me Feel" together for Jackson's 30th Anniversary Celebration, which aired on CBS in 2001.
"I was so excited to see his show in London," Spears said in a statement today. "We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I'm devastated he's gone!"
Justin Timberlake posted a tribute to Jackson on his website.
"I can't find the words right now to express how deeply saddened I am by Michael's passing," the pop-R&B hitmaker wrote. "We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only Pop music but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones."
And the proof of Jackson's tremendous influence on the next generation of music makers didn't stop there.
Beyoncé called Jackson's death a "tragic loss" on a "terrible day."
"The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music," the 27-year-old singer said. "He was magic. He was what we all strive to be. He will always be the King of Pop!

Usher, who shared a stage with Jackson once, is also "deeply saddened" by the loss.

"I would not be the artist, performer, and philanthropist I am today without the influence of Michael. Meanwhile, Sheryl Crow actually worked for Jackson, having landed a spot as a backup singer on his Bad tour in the late 1980s.
"His was a rare talent that we witness once in a lifetime," she said. "One who makes such an indelible mark that for generations singers and dancers attribute him as inspiration. I had the great privilege of watching him every night doing what he did best—entertain. I am grateful to have known him for the 2 years I worked for him and will mourn his loss with his many millions of fans across the world."
