Rana has given very good answers here, and not very different from what mine would have been. However, I happen to believe that Jesus is the only-begotten Son of God, and offers salvation to all, and that all that is necessary for salvation is contained in OUR little book. :)

Of course, the corollary of that is that I cannot accept the Koran as the revealed word of God, or accept that of any other religious writing, except the Jewish scriptures.

I believe that God existed before the Big Bang, and that the being we call the Son came into existence with God, and the Holy Spirit at the same time. These three are three persons in one essence, and therefore one God. That is a statement of the Trinity, not an explanation, as it is beyond human understanding. Jesus the man was the Incarnation of God, and was both fully man and fully God. Do't try to understand it; you can't. This of course is opposite to the second point Rana gives above, as the Son is begotten by the Father, and the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son, but they are not created, but of the same substance as God, and therefore all three persons are coequal.

Things that happen in the universe may be against the Will of God, because God created creatures with free will, rather than automatons that can only do good, and we have used that free will to do evil.

Some Christians, not all of whom are fundamentalists, believe that only Christians will go to Heaven. I believe that through the Mercy of Jesus, tho opportunity to join God in Heaven will be extended to all, and those who accept the invitation will be saved. It is not my business to decide who these may be, or to judge God for doing His job. I cannot imagine a Heaven without Mahatma Gandhi, the Buddha, or Abdul the fisherman who never did a mean thing in his life.
