The self-aware person seems to be the end of most religions, including psychoanalysis. It is the aim of Christianity, union with God, and the meaning of salvation. Which makes me think that a lot of people who say they are saved aren't, really. I am not sure if I am, but sometimes I feel myself getting close.

Your guru's quest was similar to that of many hermitic saints who did things like sitting on top of columns all their lives, talking to God.

I think that "Infinite Consciousness" is a good description of God, who is all knowledge and wisdom and emotion. I believe that wherever your search takes you, you will not lose your share in God.

Best wishes and blessing on your search.

Roger
