Shannon will actually turn 20 this year and will be in the mix. There are lots of new girls this year as well. I think it will be an excellent pageant!

I was at the gala and someone told me her life stories, very moving. She is a very strong young woman, her talent is different but it's a breath of fresh air.

Working as an actress in NYC. She made it on her own without the help from Miss America. Nationals really screwed up not selecting her.

I think you are right except life experiences can be learned along the way, it shouldn't matter if you haven't been anywhere, it should matter your personality, and your willingness to learn..so basically a young new fresh look, with talent, willing to learn and be ready to jump in...not somebody who does pageants all the time and go from one pageant to another, that to me gets old.

[ Post a Reply to This Message ]
[> [> [> [> [> Subject: I just don't think any of them should be pre-judged, whether coming from another system or not. Who cares. If the girl has a passion for giing back to the community and wants a title to get her cause into the spotlight then great keep shooting for your dreams. And many of these other systems are like a step towards these bigger titles.I know Berkeley personally she is one of those girls who is not in it for the crown she is in it because she lost a best friend to suicide and doesn't want other people to have to experience that. She also has a huge passion for it because her mother was particularly proud of her having a state title, but she suddenly lost her mother last June.

Author:
She is in it for all the right reasons, yet she comes from having a prior title.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Yes exactly ... that would be my point, each of them most likely has a story (I just happen to know Berkeley's because I know her) so whether they have a prior title or this is their first pageant, or maybe they have tried a lot but just haven't gotten a title yet it should matter. Prior titles and prior training don't affect the girl!!!!
