Holly Howard and her family will bring a lot of drama and throat cutting to the pageant. I hope her directors will speak with her mother and keep them in line. Her mother's personal and business Facebooks are so vile and hate filled. She constantly refers to people as "trash" and post horrible mean things about other dance teachers in the area. They are mean hateful people and trouble from the word go. Good luck to the girls who must compete with her. Keep a safe distance at all times.

They're liars and cheaters. Watch out for them. They cheat at every competition her mother's studio attends then lie about the awards they win. She'll never win Miss Mississippi but it's a shame that girls even have to be exposed to such rubbish at such a prestigious event. I've had them as contestants at a pageant and they don't belong in this mix.

I just found this forum and I'm not in the pageant circle, so could someone please tell me why Laura Lee Lewis looks completely different than she has in years past? I'm just a fan of the pageant and watch it every year, so I have no clue the history. Someone sent me a picture of her when she won OT and she doesn't look like the same girl. I thought these pageants were for scholarships that helps to pay for girl's educations? It just seems like money spent to get "the look" exceeds what scholarship money they're awarded.

Read LLL's bio on the Miss MS page. She had severe mid-facial hypoplasia which led to many issues and had corrective surgery several years ago. She seems like a precious girl who faced a lot of challenges due to the disease she had. Her entire platform is based off of that.

Her platform has NOT always been based on this medical 'condition". THIS is the kind of thing that gives scholarship pageants a bad name.

After reading your link, her HERO platform seems pretty similar to her current mentor platform. Giving kids a hero to look up to is pretty similar to having a mentor. Stop googling old reports and his support our contestants.

I'd rather google than assume, so I'm not sure why you have a problem with me looking it up. I started this by asking a legitimate question, but it's obvious it's a touchy subject by the defensive reaction. I know someone who follows this board and said last year there were several posts concerning her new look. They said nothing was mentioned about the medical condition. As far as reading the bios, I have a tropical island in Alaska to sell you if you think there aren't bios that are embellished just a bit. I'm NOT saying LLL is embellished, so don't get your feathers ruffled. I'm saying there ARE bios in which the truth is stretched a touch to sound more appealing. I don't know LLL, nor do I care who wins tonight. I'd just like a genuine girl who will represent Mississippi well at MA.

I can enlighten you! She was born with a birth defect where the bones in her face did not form correctly. The corrective surgery she had could not be performed until the bones had fully developed ! Furthermore , the surgery was performed to help her with her breathing ! Not to win a pageAnt. In her journey through life she has encountered many rude and uneducated people that are shallow minded and don't stop to think about the person they are tearing down . Although the ignorant, rude and shallow minded people have taught her at a very young age that true beauty comes from within and has shaped her and made her classy , beautiful, sweet and caring person that she is !

No one is tearing down her. I asked why she looked different. I'm sorry that I didn't take what a few bias posters said and I researched it myself. I wish her the best of luck. Many girls have nose jobs to help them breathe better. It's usually from a bone that causes breathing issues. Many girls have breast implants because God gave them small breasts. I say good for them! Now, please stop all of this because it's only drawing attention to it even more being that it's obviously from her supporters. Again, I am NOT here to bash anyone! I asked a simple question. Good luck to everyone.

now while she still can. If she did something on video that caused her to be kicked out of band, choir and show choir, her directors need to advise her to quietly slip away. It's only going to get worse. People are not going to let this go. It's sad because she had a pretty good chance with her platform, surgery, talent, etc. going for her, but all that is ruined now. I hope she or the adults guiding her have the sense to advise her to go away.

I disagree. If she knows she did nothing wrong, she should stand her ground and compete. I am a fan of her amazing talent and confidence on stage, and I think she can have a huge future in entertainment if she wants it. If she reads these boards, which I hope she doesn't, I want her to see that she has supporters who hope this blows over and eventually amounts to nothing. I want to see her compete in Vicksburg!

It seemed to look enough like her for her to lose her homecoming queen crown.. If she wins a state title that video will make national news

No. They didn't. She participated in multiple Christmas parades last week representing ICC as the homecoming Queen. It's amazing what lengths people will go to knock down someone else is doing so well out of such obvious jealousy.

Molly did not lose her Homecoming title but she did get kicked out of band, choir and center stage. It was more than just the video, there was another incident. Molly knows the truth along with a few other people and it is something she will have to live with whether she wins Miss Mississippi or not.

As someone who doesn't know who Molly May particularly is, I'm just watching a group of grown women attack a contestant on a message board. I don't care what she did or didn't do. But imagine if it were your daughter or your contestant or even you. You'd be falling apart. But none of you care. You just want to put in your two cents to see who can bash molly most or who knows the worst thing about her. In my opinion, she could have a sexually explicit video and dropped out of school and I'd still want her to win over any other contestant who's mommy or themselves post such horrible things.

Her platform is breast cancer awareness, and she recently had a double mastectomy for preventive reasons. No one can top that, not to mention her talent. She will be the next Miss America with her platform alone.

It is true, though. She has definitely supported her story and is super talented. Others may want compete for the experience, but that would be super expensive. Molly will probably be our next Miss America and would be very deserving.

I am sure that Molly is a very deserving young lady, and I sense that she is handling this difficult time in her life with lots of poise and grace, but I think its sad that her misfortune is the key to her success, and even more to suggest that other incredible young ladies couldn't be our next Miss America, simply becasue they haven't had such an issue in their lives. Should every little girl who wants to be Miss America hope she has some traumatic experience just so she has a story to tell. I certainly hope not.

This may sound cold but ppl have this procedure quite often ... Its the smart choice if you test positive for the gene... And she got a boob job right after so she looks great... I don't really see the tragedy. Lots of girls have platforms with this strength at our state pageant

The tradegy is that at 19 she has no feeling in her chest and probably never will. She has major scars and She has had tissue expanders since June that are painful and don't move and she can't sleep well and takes pain medicine and also has high risk for ovarian cancer and was told to have hysterectomy after she has had her children. Really ? This is nothing like a boob job. And yes i put my name. Sorry if anyone is offended

You could not have said that ANY better. it disgusts me that you people think someone will and should be awarded a crown due to something tragic that happened in her life? I'm sorry but if that were the case CC Hillman should have been Miss MS if we're counting misfortunes and ailments. The kid almost died. Get over yourself people. Miss MS is SOOOOO MUCH more than poor pitiful me give me and crown because of my health concerns. She may be talented and poised but guess what, so is most everyone else on that stage come June/July. So cut the crap about her "deserving" to be Miss America or even Miss MS just because of her "story". There is so much more to it than that.

Its true.... We had girls who were bullied and lll who has a beautiful testimony, a girl who was brutally raped an told her story all over the news, we had a girl who recovered in rehab a fully recovered addict, and yes a girl who almost died... And the crazy part is the girl who won platform had another "healthy Mississippi " platform.... I wish it carried more weight but ms ms obviously doesn't but too much into picking great platforms ... So platforms and tragedy's don't get crowns

Excuse me but Molly would have just as great of a chance at winning even if she hadn't of had the procedure done before she began competing. She's the best we've done at Nationals out of all the teens we've sent(and the Misses in the last 10+ year). Want to know why? Because Molly has an incredible personality and spirit. Those that are close to her know that she had a cancer scare earlier this year so deciding to go ahead with the mastectomy was a brave and mature decision she made at just 19. I'm not sure if Molly will win Miss MS this year, but if she does it will be because of how sweet and talented she is. Now quit being a sore loser and talking about someone who is nothing but nice to everyone.

I'm pretty sure the posters above said that Molly will win Miss MS BECAUSE of her story. If Molly does eventually win, it will be because she deserved it and not because of her masectomy. Plus we all know your sweet angel didn't win last week so you're just being ugly.

I agree. Platform should play a larger role in the MM and MAO if girls are to have one. I was very disappointed that CeCe Hillman did not win the QOL award because she not only had an important message to spread and was inspiring, but the girl put in the work for it too. She even has a jewelry line and plays a large role in a national organization. If she didn't win QOL, I at least thought Dailee Kimble who was raped or LLL who has a great story would.

Miss Spirit of the South
Miss Dixieland
Miss Tupelo
Miss ICC
Miss MC
Miss Pontotoc
Miss Coastal Waters
Miss Metro Jackson
Miss Heartland
Miss Madison
Miss Clinton
Miss Flowood
Miss East Central
Miss Hinds CC
Miss Grenada
Miss Heartland
Miss Historic South
Miss Natchez Trace
Miss Meridian
Miss Southern Heartland
Miss SWCC
Miss Southland
Miss West Central

Is this correct?

The website is so outdated you can't go by it, and most of these pageants are not even being held any longer. In most cases a director names the pageants they hold, so the pageants listed here that do not have a director have probably been released permanently. Of the ones listed the ones who no longer are active to my knowledge are: Dixieland, Heartland, Madison, Flowood, Grenanda, West Central. Pageants whose franchises may or may not still be owned by their director but which are not scheduled at this time to be held this year are: Pine Belt/Gulf Coast, Spirit of the South, Coastal Waters, ICC, Historic South, Southern Heartland, Natchez Trace, and SWCC. Pageants that still have their franchise but will not be held this year or have been postponed are: Tupelo, Southland, East Central. Pageants
that were scheduled but did not have enough contestants to award the crown are: Meridian. Pageants that are to be held but no date announced at this time are: Clinton, MC, and Hinds CC. Pageants which have dates announced are: Pontotoc, Metro Jackson.
