Yes, and guess who is on it?

Hannah Roberts.

While very pretty, smart, and wildly talented, I believe it to be incredibly selfish of her to go after that title again. Holding your school's title is an incredibly precious honor and comes with lots perks. However, because it is so special, it should be an honor given to as many people as possible. And, truth be told, with Roberts on the ballot, nobody else stands a chance...unless the judges feel the same way I do.

She could win any prelim in the state. Why go after this specific title again? It just looks incredibly selfish on her part. And, schools should never allow repeats.

Don't be rude... I'm not being ugly to you ... This isn't a board about me its a board to express opinions about contestants. I'm not green with envy as you suggest .I have no horse in this race.. I'm just a loyal fan and sponsor to the program an I am not saying that she doesn't deserve it ? I am actually clearly agreeing that she could have any title in the state... But i am dissappointed in her ...I think a school title is is more prestigious an I think her decision to hold it twice was a selfish one

Why go after this title again ? If you have ever heard her speak about her college you would understand. She is a southern miss girl all the way. Not tacky.... It is the title that fits her best and she was a great asset for the college to have to represent them at state years ago. This is a prelim like any other ! Completely legal according to the rules. Y'all should know that. Sure hoping it works out for this girl . To have won a college title as a sophomore speaks for itself!

This prelim is not like any other... As a college title holder you receive many more opportunities to represent your school and participate in school activities as miss USM is an honor you don't get as miss new south or miss turtle creek.Hannah has had all of those unforgettable experiences you get as a school title holder . she should share that opportunity with someone else

As someone else mentioned, everyone should take a look at the "crown sponsors" list. You will then understand the first RU.

The winner was clear, although I do not personally believe she should have been allowed to have this title twice! Like I said, my opinion.

The alternates were a hot mess. This pageant continues to deteriorate every year. :(

It would be interesting if the judges decided that it was classless of Roberts do this pageant again, and chose someone else....

Even if it is not "technically" against the rules, it shows lack of judgement and BAD form. That speaks to character. With 4 dozen pageants she could enter, there is just NO GOOD REASON to go after this special title a second time.

It's just tacky.

Can't stand it when someone disagrees with you and gives legitimate reasons for doing so, huh?

Grow up, sweetie. And while you're at it, help Roberts grow up too. You both need it, and you are apparently very close to her.

Roberts obviously lacks some wisdom given this particular decision. It's unfortunate, really. She could've kept her name clean by entering ANY other pageant. But, she made a bad decision...and will now have to live with the consequences. She hasn't done herself any favors here tonight. You can count on that.

Why does everyone assume all that look at this board are moms and angry contestants? Some people just care about the system .I am no ones mother an not a contestant ... Well guess what? We are THRILLED in NC to have him spending more of his time in NC rather than Mississippi!

People coached by him make it on Broadway and other professional dancing and acting venues.

He crawled me about my mistakes BUT it was truly to make me a better performer. Get over it, people!

This pageant is deteriorating more every year. The choreography, entertainers, and the contestants themselves - really bad. Last night was the worst it has ever been (in my opinion) and I saw my first Miss Mississippi pageant when Mary Ann Mobley won, so I have seen quite a few of them. The participation of the kids, plus the continual reading of scholarship winners, and the untalented entertainers totally ruins it. Can't do much about the contestants, but the other crap that is under the control of the staff could be handled a lot better. But, gotta keep the sponsors and the parents of the future contestants happy I guess, at the expense of the viewing audience. Seriously, if they want to keep the tv audience engaged, then they need to clear out the staff who are making these bad choices.

You must have been watching a different pageant. The talent was top notch with the exception of 2 of them, the swimsuit portion good, and all of the gowns classy. Entertainment and emcee was great too. Go on over to Pageant Guru and check out what they think. You'll find you are in the minority by a big margin.

Whoever chose the song "shake your money maker" is totally off base for a pageant. Many many young girls look up to pageant contestants. How does one explain to these young girls what your "moneymaker" is???

Was talking about how good the show was. I also heard that mostly volunteers do everything so why are you being so critical. I have ALSO been attending the pageant for many years and never seen people dancing in their seats like I did last night. I for one am proud for our state. You can tell a lot of work went in to it.

agree! Some of that choreography was not appropriate for children, then there is the money maker song, & Cheeseburger in Paradise talking about a cold draft beer. How is that appropriate for kids? It's not!

With all of the possibilities out there, why are we choosing songs with references to alcohol?? and why we're talking about song selection, where in the world did the Cee Lo Green song come from? He is not from Mississippi. AND, what happens when the kids go to look up that song, guess what they'll find? F**K You. That's what. That's the song our kids were singing. NOT appropriate. At all.

Bad judgement. Lack of class. These are pivotal and dangerous times.

I agree. When it first started, it looked like I was watching an old VHS. The camera quality was TERRIBLE. I know these girls are beautiful but you absolutely could not tell. I think Mallory Graham was an ass, but he made sure the show was good. I'm not saying the people who run the production are terrible, but they need some help in the creativity department.

It happened when Pat left and he had to work with other producers who told him what they wanted. They wanted to make the pageant more current. Well, you see where that got us. He was no longer in charge. Blame MMBOD. I just want to say he was the most talented showman I have ever know. Bar none!

Save your time. The ONE who holds the money decides who gets crowned. The doctor is much more INVOLVED than you think. Judges are stacked by who is connected. Some states get in HOT WATER due to the things going on behind the scenes. Remember, Miss America leaders visited a few years ago. It was NOT because the just wanted to come to our little Vicksburg. And you wonder why the state has had DOWN years nationally.

Look closely at the IP address. The person who posted the comment about Ivy then posted the response that said "well that's not nice". Interesting. Someone trying to stir up discussion over a girl. The poster did not say '"no she is not" but said, "thats not nice" .It as if she was trying to indadvertedly confirm the idea that this girl is too overweight to take the title.

They don't get to choose. First runner up is first in line as she won over the 2nd runner up. I would think if she chooses not to participate as did the winner then and only then would 2nd runner up have the option.

More than a disagreement. The ICC sponsor was finally fired -- after the winner had given up her crown (and had talked to the MM board beforehand). After the firing, MM board said the initial winner should still be the winner; however, they had already told 1st runner-up she was going. Winner did not want to take that away from her. The ICC sponsor was new and, frankly, didn't quite know what she was doing. For example, I believe the contestants were told to have a black dress this year (like the red dress from last year) and were told that the dress should be somewhat business attire. On the way back, sponsor told winner that she already had picked out the black dress -- one shoulder with sequins. Winner told sponsor it needed to be more appropriate business attire. Sponsor told her to shut up. Many things like that -- wouldn't let the winner have any say so about her wardrobe -- even if the wardrobe the sponsor picked did not look well on the winner. IMHO, I believe that the sponsor may have been so nervous about being new that she coped by being a dictator. Hate it for the winner ... very sweet girl. Hopefully, she will be back next year. Good luck to the new Miss ICC

Seriously? Ivey Swan is NOT overweight. She's tiny. She has a beautiful figure. It's people like YOU who drive incredibly thin people to their death beds due to eating disorders. Ivey Swan is an extremely beautiful and talented young woman and an example to all. Her father was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer, and she's not using that as a crutch like most people would. Most women would jump at the chance to seek pity. I've seen the good, bad and ugly go through Miss Mississippi and she's a damn good contender with a heart of gold. She's the real deal; a down to earth go getter who doesn't put up with nonsense from anyone, except maybe her 10 year old little sister. This is coming from someone who has personal relationships with several candidates. And, no, I'm not a mother or family member. I'm a 23 year old Pine Belt resident. Ivey Swan would be the most incredible Miss Mississippi if those judges spent one day with her.

VISITATION
If Winky is going to let the whole large group of Jasmine's family in without pass = after they pushed and butted their way into the line), then he needs to extend the same courtesy to other families.

TALENT
WCU vocal and MC piano were technically WAY better than LLL or Jasmine. Liked LLL and Jasmine selections better last year. LLL is looking like a one-trick pony with holding out that last note on EVERY SONG SHE DOES. I'd like to see her try something else. I just wasn't feeling her. Seemed programmed and plastic. Jasmine was over the top...but considering who she is working with, that's expected.

SWIMSUIT
I would've chosen Conerly, but Harmon and Dale were great too. Corn looked great, but not quite as good as years past.

Higginbotham competed in Miss University last year and when she lost to Conerly, hung up her heels for 2013. (Apparently, she was Miss Univ or bust....) Anyway, she did Miss University this year and finally won.

Someone needs to tell her to stop with high voice. She sounds like she's trying to imitate a child. It's not attractive, and makes her come off like an airhead - when I don't think she is. But that Disney princess voice has got to go. She needs to listen to some powerful women speak, or even just spend some time listening to the former Miss America who is the emcee. THAT is the tone of an accomplished, educated woman.

SS is a nailbiter- Connerly, Pacific, and Harmon OMG! Bless CeCe's heart-- she just can't get over that health issue and gain weight or she would be right there with them. Southland is stunning.

Will somebody in Hattiesburg please tell the EGOMANIACS at "The Leaf Foundation" that Foundations don't win titles...GIRLS DO!!!!!

This has got to the be the most self-centered group of pageant directors on the planet!! To take this girl's success and claim it as their own in a self-authored press release!!??!! I mean, really. Who does that?? I've never before seen a director claim the title like this. This is just plain horrible. I feel sorry for that girl and her parents for having "The Leaf Foundation" try to hijack her win. She worked hard for this!! And, sure, maybe her directors helped her (like ALL DIRECTORS are supposed to do!!), but they didn't get out there in a dress and heels. They didn't perform her talent, do a fitness routine, and sign autographs (although by the title of this article, I'm sure they'd have LOVED to.). Grace is the titleholder. Let her be the center of attention. NOT YOU - "Leaf Foundation"

We are one month away from MM and very little activity on this board. While I am delighted that we are not experiencing the bashing that went on last year, I am surprised that there is not more conversation. Or has everyone just lost interest?
