The shivering had died down as she remained close to him, though at his statement she balked, pulling away and shaking her head violently the act nearly making her hurl. ”No…I don’t want pictures. I…don’t want anyone to see me like this, oh gods why did I ever think running away would fix anything.” The sob broke then there was silence as he kissed her forehead trying to calm her, though she knew deep down she’d have nightmares for weeks. She was already scared of having nearly lost him, now by her own hands she’d almost allowed it to happen. Sure she hadn’t pulled the knife or plunged it into him, but he’d been hurt because of her and that was enough for the guilt to eat her up inside. The fact that they’d possibly done this before was registered and if anything could keep her from escaping into the shadows, to avoid the circus that was coming their direction soon in the form of flashing red and blue lights it was that. She couldn’t let this happen to anyone else, the fact it’d had to happen at all was disgusting, but she wasn’t doing it for herself…she was doing this for the others who’d never been able to speak up and for the ones who were on that list. Jimmy moaned again and Des felt her stomach clench in response, nodding then wincing as she spoke. ”Yeah, keys should still be in the ignition.” Moving a few timidly and like a jack rabbit ready to bolt at the sound of a hooting owl, Des had moved to lean up against the truck’s rear end when she moaned. ”I think I’m gonna be sick.” Words barely out before she lost the little amount of food she’d had that day, it was hard to believe she hadn’t ate since breakfast and that’d been far from fulfilling. Feeling the gag come a second time she gripped the tailgate for support and finished emptying her stomach. Straightening with some effort though her head was defiantly reeling by now. The approaching sirens didn’t help the pain either. |
