It was so strange and new, being in Cascade City. Everything seemed different, everyone seemed foreign, and all but myself seemed to know where they were going. This was and is, perhaps, the 6th subway train I had been on in the past hour and I am still lost. I had know idea where I was when I started and still no clue now. I am frightened, scared out of my wits to be exact. To not know is the worst situation. It sends you in a state of confusion and the confused were often mugged and oh! do I not want to get mugged. Just the very notion is making me woozy. As I stepped onto the train and sat down I avoided making eye contact, I don't have the slightest clue who I'm sitting next to or across from. I only know myself, my messenger bag, and the clothes on my back. I put my hands nervously on my knees, fingering the hole in my jeans. My plaid shirt seemed to be a bit to light for the semi-cold subway car...at least my feet are warm, snuggled in my socks and tennis shoes.
