Subject: It all is simple if we keep it realistic.

I was a mod when the talk of balance was being talked about. I had some coaches saying how they didn't want it to come in, and some coaches adamant that it should.

I seen both sides of the argument. But it is heavy handed in its current form. Common sense needs to be applied and that isn't happening.

We are trying to make things black and white, and we are missing the grey, which is removing it from reality.

Reality is, our weapons are our players, and they have ability that may not be used in their current AFL side. That does not mean they can't be used that way in our Superleague sides.

Like this example that bought this up for me. Roughead, Balta and Weideman can all play ruck. They don't, but they can. So if I requested these players be allowed to be considered as a ruck, that request under the current rules would be denied. Heat maps are looked into, and the player can only be used exactly the same way as they are in the AFL.

The benefit of goals from a player in a forward line, is not considered. I could line up a forward line that kicks no goals, yet still win games of Superleague, because of SL score alone. So output of an AFL setting does not matter when we consider who is a winner or loser in our comp.

So why is it, that a player needs to get Ruck time and tap outs to be eligible for the Ruck.

I understand that teams should not be leaving out a poor scoring ruckman, and include an extra CHF, FF, CHB or FB that may be scoring. That is a loophole that should not be open. But if a team HAS NOT GOT A BONI FIDE RUCKMAN, and have capable ruckman in key position players, there is NO reason that move could be considered unrealistic.
