Sharon commented on a test for dogs of 18 months. I think such a test result can be influenced by training. So apart from breeders doing things rigth owners can influence the results too. For example this point:

Subtest 4: Gunshots
The handler stops at a designated marker with his/her back towards a well hidden assistant. The assistant fires three shots using a .22 caliber starter pistol (SHOT-PAUSE-SHOT-SHOT).
The purpose of this subtest is to measure the dog's recovery response to a sudden noise.

Bomani has heard that for about a month now and found it boring from the start. So in order to see him recover from a similar sudden noise now he should be taken to an artillery testing site and I will not wait with that until he is 18 months. He will experience those sounds as soon as possible, as all my other dogs have. Likewise dogs can be trained with sudden visual inputs like opening an umbrella or having something thrown or shot in the dogs direction, like a stone or fireworks. Or like someone running towards the dog in a menacing way.

So without meaning to belittle the value of the test or the part of a good breeder I think any test performed when the dog is not a pup anymore also gives an indication of the experiences that dog might have undergone so far.

Yours kindly, Gijs
