 In the each case I would have to concede that I got what I deserved, but at the time I hated getting those lickings. They hurt like crazy and the one I got from the policeman still embarrasses me. Many years after the fact, my friend who was with me on that day told the story to his wife and mine while we were all at dinner. The ladies laughed and agreed that we both deserved a licking for what we had done, but even then I found it embarrassing.

As for the licking my father gave me, it was easily the worst fanny tanning I ever got, but I knew that I deserved the licking even as I was getting it, I think.
