In reply to: Mopar jockey but perfer Fords 's message, ""Whats the difference between a Road Runner engine and a 383 Police car motor?? Spelling" on 11:41:45 07/16/02 Tue

The difference between a Road Runner motor and a Cop Car motor is the 440 heads and cam. Chrysler did this in 1968 when they put out the Road Runner to make it different from the regular Satellites. With the 440 stuff bolted on, it gained 5 hp to 335hp over the standard 383HP motor's 330hp. Starting in 1969, the 335hp blocks, and the 440HP motors, were painted orange, while the 330HP versions were painted blue, along with the 383-2 low performance 383. According to what I have heard, no cop car got the 335HP version of the 383-4.

Unless I am very mistaken: ALL BB Mopars 1968 up used essentially the same cylinder head within the same few model years............2 or 4V, Magnum or not. (NT)Bearhawke in Az20:04:27 07/16/02 Tue
