It’s been what, 3 Miss Virginias out of 4 from there? Subject Author Date They truly prep their girls to the extreme and give them support. This year it was no joke for the miss end as the quality wasn’t really high and knew those two would easily do very well. In there teen category they did very well again as they had the 1st runner up who’s amazing! I just think the teens had wayy more competition as everyone in the teen top 5 had great talents. I think some of the placement could’ve been shifted around for teens but miss was spot on! They offer real sizable scholarships for BOTH titles, run mock interviews with qualified judges who reflect actual state-level panels (not randoms from a Facebook group), and guide contestants through wardrobe, talent, and CSI strategy with actual coaching and support. Their sponsors aren’t a last-minute scramble or people coming to them, but vetted partners who match the quality and standards of the program. Some local directors are fed up with the leadership problems, the rising costs, the fairs/festivals fiasco, and the lack of contestant pool in the state. New leadership is working overtime to give the impression that everything is big and better when in reality, it has never been more sad. They lost some incredible people who would never have left unless things weren't dire. One in particular, Dr. Nancy Dye who owns the home where they have hosted a welcome dinner for years. She was on the board and her exit should speak volumes as to the truth of all that has come to light. The path new leadership took to get rid of many who left was deliberate. And those who resigned and left on their own accord were never contacted to ask why or try to convince them to come back. They only want to surround themselves with people who fall in line and agree without discussion. It is one sided and in no way serves the purpose and traditions of what Miss America once was.
