For a pageant based on volunteerism and growth they continually reward girls who aren’t doing the job at a state level, let alone would they ever at the national level?! I’m not talking about the winner I don’t know anything about her but am talking about other placements. It makes no sense after Berkley was so instrumental in the growth of this organization. Don’t even get me started on girls lying about numbers to get the volunteer award…. I’m saddened by this. A lot of girls who have worked their butts off and would’ve represented well were robbed of their spots in the top 10/5. Yet girls who haven’t done anything for the organization were in the 5…. [> Subject: Looking at their socials this morning and I’d say 80% of the top 5/10 demonstrated their commitment to the program, national partnerships and their own initiatives. In the end I do think that those qualities made a difference in the final rankings which is what really matters in the end.

But I wonder with 20 at large national contestants, and this program being less than 5 years old, wouldn’t it better to get each state a firm footing (titleholders raising money for scholarships etc) so that the program can actually grow?
