Thoughts on the plus size titleholders competing? Good or bad representation for the pageant?

[> Subject: I don’t really like how this question is worded. But I think you bring up a good point. Volunteer has never had a plus size women make it into the top 15. Or even someone who is slightly heavier for that matter. I honestly think it speaks poorly of this system for not promoting some really great contestants simply because they are a little larger. Just my opnion but I think Volunteer focuses way too much on looks and appearance. If I was a plus size contestant, I wouldn’t even consider doing this pageant. Simply put, it’s just a waste of time and money for that contestant.

[> [> Subject: Of course they do, that was proven with Miss North Dakota having the amazing talent that she did but still not making the Top 15. Her talent had to have scored a 10 from every judge

[> [> Subject: My problem with this is truly not the plus size contestants, it’s that there was nobody even remotely mid size in the top 15. The biggest size must must’ve been a 4. There were some strong girls that probably are a 10-12 that should’ve made it, but were obviously discriminated against because they weren’t sickly skinny

[> [> Subject: Missouri Teen Volunteer 2025 was not an size 0 and was top 16. Her stage presentation in fitness was excellent, so that helped. The fitness standard in Volunteer is high and requires work daily for a year or more to attain. With fitness counting the same as interview and talent it cannot be neglected.
