I attended the judges forum last year (I have judged lots of pageants before, just not Miss GA prelims), so I am a certified judge. My name is on 'the list' and everything. I've emailed lots of directors personally but I still haven't been asked to judge. Can anyone enlighten me on some of the possible reasons why or how to get asked? This may sound weird but I'm just eager to judge a prelim. Thanks for the help in advance. :)

Joanne Feldman (Fox 5 weather meteorologist) did a great job as always emceeing. Glad they have her, she needs to emcee Miss Georgia! Very classy and well spoken. Overall, every contestant was very good, the board put on again a wonderful show with the Pebblebrook dancers and talented Cobb titleholders. Anna Tucker is the new Cobb OT. Strong show for Cobb. Congratulations! Please don’t take my opinion to heart, this is just an observation and overview from the pageant.

Heather Burgess
Talent: Tap Dance
Music: “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”
Good swimsuit, white gown, improvement from old gown from Miss Ga. Talent is entertaining, well spoken contestant overall. (Placed 3rd ru)

Meredith Crawley
Talent: Vocal
Music: “I Dreamed a Dream”
Good in swimsuit, well spoken. Talent is very good – would like to see a different outfit to stand out more.

Lauren Green
Talent: Tap Dance
Music: “Hit Me Up”
Beautiful presence on stage, her smile lights up the stage. Hair style was a great improvement from last year. Great swimsuit and gown presentation. Talent needs stronger technique and she’ll do well, would love for her to continue competing with a stronger technique in her dance and she’ll be at Miss Ga soon.

Lane Cobb
Talent: Vocal
Music: “Angel"
Pretty girl, good wardrobe and confidence on stage. Talent- voice is good, might be stronger and more entertaining with a backtrack.

Amelia Hunt
Talent: Ballet en Pointe
Music: "Don Quixote: Kitri Variation"
My vote for swimsuit winner. Talent was very impressive and overall presentation and look was flawless. Great onstage answer. Had her winning or 1st runner up. (Placed 1st)

Taylor Voyles
Talent: Vocal
Music: "Make You Feel My Love"
Talent was incredible, very strong vocal (talent winner), had her in my top 5 all night. Swimsuit is good, and gown had a beautiful neckline, although it was busy (beaded pattern) but elegant. Very poised, she earned the crown.

Amanda Scott
Talent: Piano
Title: “Jerry Lee’s Boogie” by Jerry Lee Lewis
Great presence and confidence on stage, and so delightful when she speaks, which could indicate her interview is solid. Gown was revealing up top. Needs to work more on talent so it’s solid and improve on swimsuit and I see her placing/winning in the near future.

Carly Claire Gill
Talent: Vocal
Music: "If I Can't Have You"
Good confidence on stage, and tone figure – earned the swimsuit award. Talent is entertaining. On stage question was good, could improve on presence/walk so it’s more relaxed. With her winning a swim award she’s up there.

Amber Runyan
Talent: Ballet
Music: “Atlanta” by Bond
Very regal when she walks. Good talent and tone figure. Nice answer to her question, with more prelims under her belt I see her placing soon with more experience.

Mary Ashley Tucker
Talent: Vocal
Music: "Let Me Be Your Star"
Good contestant in all categories, very consistent. Walk in swimsuit could be more relaxed. Talent is solid and onstage question was perfect. Had her in my top 3 all night. (Placed 4th ru)

Kristy Miller
Talent: Baton Twirling
Music: “Requiem for a Dream”
Fantastic talent, great soundtrack and it had everyone around us on the edges of our seats. Personable answer onstage. Needs work on swimsuit and gown was different but she worked it well. Had her in the 5.

Brooke Dorris
Talent: Vocal
Music: "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again"
Great start at her first prelim as a Miss contestant. Talent was outstanding. Had her winning talent or close to it. Swimsuit needs work and needs practice walking, gown was on point. Her overall look was regal. Can see her placing soon.

Erika Elliott
Talent: Vocal/ Guitar
Music: "Can't Help Falling in Love
Heartwarming talent, guitar and vocal to Elvis was very entertaining. Good presence on stage and nice answer to question. Would like to see her do more prelims.

Katherine McCauley
Talent: Vocal
Music: “Kiss Me in the Rain”
The crowd favorite! Solid in all phases of competition. Swimsuit could improve. Great talent with passion. Had her in the 5. (Placed 2nd ru)

Lydia Pappas
Talent: Contemporary Dance
Music: "The Beat"
Won congeniality, she has a beautiful smile and presence on stage. Good talent and great onstage answer (dance costume needs support up top). Work on wardrobe and continue to get experience by competing more. Great spirit on stage!

As I saw another poster saying headshots are up for Cobb, I thought some discussion would be good to help kick off the local season for Miss Georgia 2014!

Who stands out to you based on head shots?

My pick would be Heather Burgess. She's very pretty- at least in her headshot.

What will the backlash be to them if they try and compete in the Miss Georgia program again? Ive heard many boards will not accept you if you do that. True or myth?

Welcome to a new Miss Georgia Voy Board. I created this because of the lack of posting on the other board and my disagreement of the IPs being posted. I believe in staying anonymous on a message boards so people can feel secure in sharing their opinions. However, I also believe in someone being respectful and plain nastiness will NOT be tolerated. Please feel free to start posting as the local season for Miss Georgia 2014 is about to begin!
