"Thanks. You couldn't have known about my father..." She carefully returned the hug Wessae gave her.

"Yeah, I guess Joth would be proud of me." She straightened up. "And a lot of what you said isn't foolishness at all. In fact, it makes a lot of sense." They stood together in companionable silence, and Kalya looked at all the eggs, glistening.

I guess they're practically hard now. she thought. It probably won't hurt to touch one... Kalya walked a little bit over to some eggs, caressed a few gently, then turned to where she supposed she'd really been going all along - the queen egg. Bowing slightly to Kylith, she gently touched the beautiful egg with one finger.

Kalya gasped, it was so smooth and perfect! "You must be a wonderful creature, Kylith, to lay such beautiful eggs," she said, then walked back to where Wessae was standing.

((Erg, I hope the eggs are hard now, if they're not, just please pretend she didn't touch them...))
