It's bigger than you...

True made a face that was half between a frown and a dry laugh. “Yeah, I guess. I’m normally pretty good about that, but you can never tell...” She frowned. Shards, she knew it couldn’t be true that Talla was mean. She seemed to be a nice, intelligent, pretty young woman. It was no wonder Tr’ln liked her; she was everything True wasn’t, in her self-opinion. Spirit chirped at her questioningly, but she gave him a warm smile, and gently rubbed just under his head, where the neck attached. He crooned, and closed his eyes in pleasure.

And you are not me...

Tr’ln laughed slightly at Talla’s enthusiasm, though not mockingly, just happily. While listening intently to Talla’s recount of Mylanith’s jealousy, he returned to his gentle caressing of little Chapter, whom he believed could use with some sleep, judging on how tired the little one looked. Silly little flit probably tired himself out, if he was anything like Agust, Tr’ln thought with some affection.

The lengths that I would go to...

True listened politely to Talla’s recount, and didn’t seem at all troubled when Latroth was asked about. In fact, she seemed a bit glad that she herself wasn’t left to start a conversation.

Tr’ln smiled warmly in the way all riders do when asked of their precious Impressed. “Oh, Lat’s awesome, really. Well, he slept through the entire Hatching, but one of the other dragons is filling him in—Chellith, or something.” Tr’ln frowned as he tried to remember the name of his green clutchmate and her rider. “Yeah, that’s it, I believe. She’s impressed to the new apprentice Dragonhealer, in any case. But, yeah. He’s been growing alot, but I think he is a bit mad that there are so many littler dragons to take the attention away from him.” Tr’ln smiled fondly at his dragon’s silly nature.

The distance in your eyes...

{I’m not silly, Tr’ln.}
‘Of course you aren’t, Latty. It’s just something I say.’
The dragon just gave a mental rumble in reply.

“You and Lat speaking?” True’s voice brought Tr’ln snapping back to reality. He smiled guiltily at the two girls, and True rolled her eyes with a slight smile. Tr’ln shrugged, and picked up a piece of food with the hand that wasn’t stroking Chapter softly. He offered a meatroll to Agust, but she merely grunted and shifted on his shoulder, so he popped it in his own mouth instead.

Oh no, I’ve said too much...

Tr’ln looked around, and finally settled his gaze on Talla and True. “So...” he said, searching at random for a subject. “Do either of you have any family here?” He grinned pleasantly.

True shook her head. “Nah, just me and Zairith. And the flitters,” she added as Spirit pecked at her hand sharply in reminder. She rolled her eyes, and looked over at Talla. “What about you?

I set it up...
