The four listened intently without a single interuption until both storues were finished.

"We'd be glad to show you around." Shadow whispered, to the surprise of the other three. Shadow wasn't much of a talker.

"Wait a sec." Faini said, looking at them all in turn. She looked at the gang members. "Sound like family probs to you?"

A slow smlie crept across Cara's face. She looked over at Salty and Terent. "So, you guys don't have too much of a family, do you?"

"We could fix that." Graythorn said, catching on. "You know, we're not all actuall weyrbrats...."

"Or, we aren't all dragonrider kids. That's only Cara and Korea. I'm an orphan."

"And I never knew my parets. I'm also an orphan."

"And I just don't belong in my family." Faini sighed. "Ever try and live with a blind sister? It leaves you to be a third wheel."

"So..." Cara smiled. "Well, it's kind of hard to ask, but how'd you like to join us? We're a group of family-problem kids. We'll welcome you, if you want."

The four waited awkwardly. DId they want to join?
