The Fuller Brush Company was responsible for more warmed bottoms than even Hickory trees! Gives new meaning to the concern most managers have for the "bottom line." Quite interesting that your big sister was unaware of what her future relationship with Mr. H. would be. How well acquainted they would become. Did any of you get it with anything else?

I do know all too well that feeling of helpless pleading trying to avoid another meeting. No argument seemed to carry any persuasiveness. Justice and improving one's memory both required a firm encounter. Ouch! -- just the memories have an edge to them. I do hope all goes well at your house for the coming two weeks -- and that no one loses it and ends up having one of those one-sided chats with Mr. H. over your lap.

I was at a thrift shop Saturday and a mom and her mom were holiday shopping and I heard the mom say to her mom holding up a light and flexible mini-rubber toy baseball bat about a foot long: this would make an excellent "butt whacker." She immediately secured grandma's agreement but they didn't buy it. She was right it was the perfect weight and length for that purpose so some kids should be glad that they only discovered it on their way out the door!

It is interesting that all four of you have carried on the family's relationship with Mr.H. I guess no one wanted to "improve" or just change. It probably made your mom proud. Has she ever commented on the family tradition?
