Subject: Nice, but are there alternatives?
In reply to: Jerry 's message, "Standards" on 10:04:57 06/17/02 Mon

I received the 3 day NG lesson as a gift and liked what I learned. I think, with practice, I could actually enjoy golf socially. To get to the point of socially golfing, without being totally incompetent, I'll need a set of clubs, practicing the imaginary arm swing isn't enough.

While it would be great to be able to pull about $700 out of my pocket for the least expensive value-priced pre-packaged (not customized) Natural Golf brand club set, it just isn't feasable for me at this time. In other words, it is financially out of my reach.

I have seen club sets from other popular brands for much less on other internet sites, and on e-bay thanks to the naturalgolf.com link. Are there any alternatives to the NG brand for those that have started learning the NG swing? If so which clubs are the best alternative, though not a perfect substitute for the NG clubs? What should I look for? What attributes should the club have?

I have nothing against the NG clubs, I really liked the P3 and Pipeline clubs used in the class. When finances permit, and if I am still interested in golf, then I would love to step up to any of the NG clubs.

I just finished the classes on Saturday and would like to be on the range quickly or I'll loose the momentum, and possibly motivation, from the class.

If anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate it.
