Take a look at Golfsmith. It is very easy to assemble your own clubs and is fun, also. Not only that, but for me it extends my golf hobby to be more than just whacking away on the course. You can assemble a very nice set for under $500. I mean soup-to-nuts everything including clubs, bag, shoes and a couple of dozen balls to get you started.

Don't be intimidated by the assembly process. Some epoxy, tape, and solvent is all you need. Golfsmith has everything, including some very simple instructions on how to start. The only needed modification for NG is oversize grips. I use Avon Chamois Jumbo grips and underly them with 4 layers of build-up tape.

Good Luck.
