Ex-gaming man held for K3.6m
FORMER National Gaming Board registrar Paul Aisa appeared before the Waigani Committal Court yesterday on 47 charges of misappropriating a total of more than K3 million.
He was arrested and charged by Port Moresby police on Monday.
The charges against Mr Aisa were not read to him and the matter has been adjourned to next Tuesday.
Police alleged Mr Aisa had misappropriated K3,697,318.40 between January 1997 and July 24, 1998, money belonging to the board. They claimed cheques for cash had been made out to a wholesale business at Waigani.
This is the second time Mr Aisa has been arrested and charged by police for allegedly misappropriating funds which belong to the National Gaming Board.
