What a breath of fresh air. So excited that Ohio got it right and is sending a girl with a talent and SII that could do waves at Miss America! This girl is the real deal!

Can’t wait to see what she does with her year!

[> Subject: There was never any doubt that she would win. I was pleasantly surprised to see some maturity from Maple City, and OH definitely got a ‘story’ to take to Miss America, with her family legacy. That will help her at Miss America…she’s just SO young. They should have given her one more year…don’t know how she will hold up to >20’s at nationals? Age was less an issue with the candidates this past week. I’m just curious as to how she will serve the state while not residing in the COUNTRY?!

[> [> Subject: She lives in Cincinnati. What are you talking about? She finished her semester abroad and is back. She is going to do a great job- the younger the better! She has the time and energy to devote to the organization. The older girls have jobs, etc… what would they do?

[> Subject: Truly hopeful that she can engage the state, identify new sponsors, AND make the time necessary to actually SERVE our state! Miss America is one thing, but we really need a Miss Ohio to redeem what has been lost this past year

[> [> Subject: That's not her job! It's Steven Oliveri and the Board's job to secure funding and sponsorships. And after last year, the whole idea of a 'year of service' is a joke. Clearly, MO doesn't expect that anymore. MA doesn't even expect it! You've just failed to recognize they are just words for branding purposes. Titleholders can do as little or as much as they want now.

[> [> [> Subject: It takes a strong and engaged Miss OH to entice new sponsors/secure standing ones. While SO is ‘responsible’ for signing the deal(s) for sponsors, a visible and strong Miss OH truly paves the way…

[> [> [> [> Subject: You don't understand Ohio. Steven has rejected major sponsors that others have introduced. Ones that would have significantly increased the scholarships and improved the reach and status of the program. They have shut out anyone new for decades. Sue has been involved 40 years, Steven 17? The scholarship was $10,000 in 1995!

[> Subject: She is already working hard. She was all over Mansfield, Akron and Cincinnati this week so far. She gave a great radio interview and talked about taking the year off of school to completely dedicate herself to the Miss Ohio program.
