Check it out on Guru.

Rumor is they will give first right of refusal to State EDs for their state franchise, saying yearly fees will start at $10,000 for small states.

Ohio has the 7th largest population in the country and the new owner will price accordingly.

Subject: State Scoring Details:

Author:
No name
[ Edit | View ]

Date Posted: 10:43:19 08/15/22 Mon

STATE SCORING PERCENTAGES, MULTI-NIGHT:
Preliminary Night Scoring:*

35% Private Interview
15% On-stage Interview/Social Impact Pitch
35% Talent
15% Red Carpet

Final Night Scoring:*

40% Composite Score
10% On-stage Interview
35% Talent**
15% Red Carpet

*ALL high and low scores are thrown out EXCEPT for FINAL BALLOT

**On the Final Night of Competition the Titleholder’s Job Description, responsibilities, and duties ARE CONSIDERED PART OF THE SCORING OF TALENT.

Upon T5 being announced, scores are thrown out again.
Final Ballot scoring- *no high or low discarded:
Each judge ranks the Finalists in order, of which points are assigned:

Winner 10
1RU 5
2RU 3
3RU 2
4RU 1

SCORING CRITERIA:
Qualities & Attributes Defined by the Job Description
  Role Model

  Accomplished – Distinguished Achievements

  Leader – Mobilizes and Inspires

  Communicator – Courage of Convictions

  Poised – Attractive, Confident, Commanding Presence

  Talented

  Intelligent

  Energetic – Charisma and Expression – Magnetic Personality

  Engaging – Sets People at Ease

Consider the “Qualities and Attributes” along with the State/Local Titleholder Job Description in ALL PHASES OF COMPETITION and apply the following:

1. Can she do the job?

2. Does she want the job?

3. Do you believe she is willing to commit and fulfill the responsibilities of the titleholder job description?

4. Will she be cooperative once she receives the job?

Composite Scoring allows each judge to individually assess his/her overall opinion of each of the Semi-Finalist’s ability to fulfill the job responsibilities and requirements of a state titleholder.

When giving your Top “Ten” Composite Attributes score, consider ALL factors:

-The Job Description and the Responsibilities
-The Qualities and Attributes
-The Preliminary Phases of Competition
-Respective Criteria for Scoring “On a scale of 6 to 10, what is the contestant’s ability to be the beautiful, talented, intelligent and well-spoken role model this state needs to perform this job?”

Layperson's guide:
6= should not be crowned. 7= not ready for the crown. 8=meh. 9= ready for the title. 10= put the crown on her head already.

Composite scores and Final Ballot are not used in Local pageants.

I’m pointing out your nitpicking, malevolent, hypocrisy-- you disparaged Brittney by saying you’d be mad if she “didn’t finish her year of service or possibly crown her successor”, when this happens all the time with MAO girls and locals and it’s perfectly acceptable. It’s a triple crown; someone will show up to crown the winners.

Let's say somehow it were true that the money for the 3rd title was skimmed from the RU 'pot’- Brittney would have no way to orchestrate that! Only Regina could and Miss Ohio would have had to approve it.

That's what I like about her. If people keep bashing her and claiming she "sabotaged" someone at MO this year without backing it up with what it was/who it was to, then just be quiet and let her live her life.

Miss America Organization ordered to pay St. Louis law firm nearly $1M

The Miss America Organization failed to pay Bryan Cave “for the majority of the legal services rendered,” according to an affidavit.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — There she goes... nearly $1 million to one of the largest law firms in the St. Louis area.

That’s the amount a St. Louis County Circuit Court judge recently ordered the Miss America Organization to pay Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) for breach of contract.

The New Jersey-based company that runs the annual competition, which has generated controversy for years, had a January 2018 contract with BCLP for legal services. But the Miss America Organization failed to pay Bryan Cave “for the majority of the legal services rendered,” according to an affidavit from Gino Serra, a partner in the law firm.

The (court) made an award against the Miss America Organization totaling $926,248. The amount starts with the $717,485 that was due when BCLP terminated its representation and 9% interest per year dating to March 1, 2021.

It was and is the responsibly of the LOCAL DIRECTORS to hold the state accountable (since the MAO won't).

Most importantly she seems like she would do whatever Steven and the board want her to do. I don’t mean that in a negative way. I mean she seems like she would put being team player over her own self interest. There’s a lot of girls this year that are more aggressive in how they do things. I think a Baylee or Madison Miller who will go with what they’re told will win. Baylee just seems stronger than Madison. Plus Elizabetta’s piano playing is stronger than Madison’s.

How Lora sold herself as Miss Ohio in OSQ: With the variety of opportunities available for young women today, how will you as Miss Ohio keep the program relevant in today’s world?

I will travel across each of the 88 counties in Ohio speaking with HS girls and college-aged girls, talking about the opportunities of the Miss Ohio program both with the scholarships and life-long skills. Thank you.

*** She didn’t do an 88 county tour or visit at any colleges to promote the program.

How Lora sold herself as Miss Ohio in her SIS: I created my non-profit foundation Read On USA and the Read On USA podcast and school tours. But the most valuable gift I can give as Miss Ohio is my story. By sharing my personal journey with students across the state, I’m able to empower them to overcome obstacles and finish school.

*** I think she dropped her podcast- I searched and only found one episode posted by another podcaster. I can’t even find the channel. Does anyone know? She made no ‘school tour’ where she gave her ‘most valuable gift’ of empowering students ‘across the state’.

Lora’s post-crowning interview:

I’m so excited, I really am. I love Ohio so much. I’ve put in the work. I have a voice that can make a change so I’m excited to go out there and work with students and I’m absolutely thrilled to get that opportunity with the Miss Ohio program.

My platform is working with students who struggle in any way in education. When we can get to the students and encourage them, just to pursue their dreams and go out there and have value in yourself and be confident in who you are (sic).

(Upon winning) My first thought was, “Thank you Jesus!” My faith is the biggest part of my life and to get this opportunity to give back to this state that I love so much and serve in his name, is the most wonderful gift.

*** I’ll give her credit that she did 'do the work' BEFORE Miss Ohio- trite, pageanty steps to be considered as a state titleholder-- non-profit foundation, fundraiser, podcast, and made many appearances. She's willing to work if it benefits her.

After winning, it's normal to focus on prepping for MA over making appearances. She posted about talent prep, going to NYC several times, getting a new costume, finding her dress- all brags. It was all about her. She's willing to work if it benefits her.

3 1/2 months post Miss America and one school appearance post yesterday.

*** Her ‘voice’ didn’t ‘make a change’ because she didn’t use it. *** She didn’t ‘work with students’ or ‘get to them’’ in any significant way, having only 3 or 4 appearances at elementary schools. *** She didn’t ‘give back to the state’ she ‘loves so much’ as she hasn’t shown up. *** Despite her faith, she shrugged off ‘the most wonderful gift’ to serve as Miss Ohio 'in his name’.

I'm still baffled as to why she competed so hard for the job, only to do nothing with it. Was she not sincere? She involved Jesus!

Or has the MAO diminished so much in the last 5yrs that there's really no expectation for state titleholders to make appearances and serve the community, and pitches to be state titleholder are just an act now? Say the right MAO buzz words- scholarship, recruitment, life skills; preach how you to want to inspire and empower kids; talk big about school tours and providing resources and wrap yourself in Jesus?

Have we just not caught on that the program is no more than the girl who best promotes the Miss America talking points during competition wins, takes the scholarship, has the time of her life at MA, then shows up to crown her successor and be lauded and fawned over state pageant week?

Subject: Georgia has 50+ contestants for their state pageant this summer! Even with a large volume of virtual winners, they still far surpass the number of traditional locals that our state has had in quite a long time!!! What’s our excuse?

Subject: Since when do your not have to compete in a local to do sweeps? It’s now open to anyone who meets the age and residency requirement according to the website. Some suggested that SO is making promises to some girls I can see why. You don’t even need an evening gown to compete in sweeps
