I'm saddened to learn about Greg's death. He was a wealth of information and always so kind and helpful. He will be missed. I assume this was a Covid death since he was struggling to breathe. Can anyone confirm? (I don't want to start any rumors. I am just curious.)

Gregory Scott Davis, 50

Gregory Scott “Greg” Davis 50, of South Webster, died Saturday September 4, 2021 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born May 14, 1971 in Portsmouth to Jack Denver Davis and Carolyn Sue Shriver Davis.

Greg was a 1989 graduate of South Webster High School. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church where he was an active member of the choir. Greg was highly dedicated and involved in the Miss America Organization and The Portsmouth River Days Pageant for over 30 years. He was a huge supporter of Jeeps Athletics and the South Webster Community. Greg enjoyed cooking and serving friends and family.

Along with his parents, Greg is survived by 2 sisters: Julie Cooper and Nancy (April) Davis, a niece Katelyn Cooper along with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday September 9, 2021 at Christ United Methodist Church in South Webster with Wes Claxon officiating and interment in South Webster Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 4 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and after Noon on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com. The family requests that everyone wear a mask.
