Subject: Great question & something teachers should discuss, how is the dancer to know what to do? It’s not the dancers fault. The adults were wrong, kid should not lose points.
In reply to: 's message, "Open champ on stage to dance announced set, name, speed. Musician plays the wrong music. Dancer knows it, looks puzzled at the musicians, judges don’t say anything" on 17:58:13 11/12/23 Sun

  • If it wasn't the right tune don't dance to it. Dancing to it says "I don't really know my music" Step out of a ready to dance position and politely say "I'm sorry, that's the wrong tune." -- No name, 14:15:24 11/14/23 Tue
  • This was my U9 at an overseas major. At that young age they don't know unless they've been taught what to do, feared being disrespectful. Talk about spending a ton of money for overseas majors and for that to blow it. (NT) -- OP, 20:41:29 11/14/23 Tue
  • The danger in stopping is that if the dancer is wrong and the musician is right, the dancer is penalized. I’ve seen it happen. (NT) -- Better to dance and let judge ring bell, 09:48:59 11/17/23 Fri
