Subject: If it wasn't the right tune don't dance to it. Dancing to it says "I don't really know my music" Step out of a ready to dance position and politely say "I'm sorry, that's the wrong tune."
In reply to: 's message, "Open champ on stage to dance announced set, name, speed. Musician plays the wrong music. Dancer knows it, looks puzzled at the musicians, judges don’t say anything" on 17:58:13 11/12/23 Sun

It isn't that big of a deal. I did it many times when I was competing. The musician is exhausted and made a mistake. One time we had a fun little exchange ( He said "But I was playing it so well, are you sure you don't want to do that one instead.") and we went on with the competition.
Competitions are supposed to be a demonstration of your knowledge of Irish Dance. Knowing your music is part of that knowledge, especially at the level where you are doing a set.
