I Googled it as you suggested hon. I was familiar with a Swagger Stick, but never had heard of it being called a "Horse Stick". It looks like something that would be cruel to hit a horse with, much less using it on a kid. Pardon my asking, but when it was used on you, was it over clothing or on the bare butt? I just can't see one of them being used on someone and not leaving bruises, unless you were just tapped lightly with it. Clothed or bare, I can't see that thing not leaving bruises if used with any force at all. A kid I went to school with got whipped with a dowel rod by her Daddy at home that was about as thick as one of the Swagger Sticks I saw. I saw the bruises on her butt left by that thing when she would be changing in the locker room.

I'm not doubting your word, but honey, if you got whipped with one of those things, you have my sympathies.
