I used to be a regular poster on here, but I don't really post much anymore even though I like to come on and read what other's post.

I can tell you the story about the five children getting their bare butts spanked in the department store is a true story. I know this for a fact because, I was the eight year old boy in that story.

It happened in the summer of 1968 in a department store in Danville KY. The age range though was from six to thirteen. Not seven to twelve. My cousin Jimmy age six, me at eight, My cousin Robby age nine. My brother Paul at eleven and cousin Carmen who had just turned thirteen. There was also my little sister Karen who wasn't with us. She was three at the time and was staying at Granny's house with my great grandmother.

We were with my mother, aunt and grandmother doing our back to school shopping. Unfortunately for mom, she pretty much became the baby sitter for the five of us while my aunt and granny wandered off together. Mom gave us a stern warning that we'd better behave ourselves or she'd blister our butts "in front of God and Everybody." So she was trying to shop, get us to try on clothes and keep us out of trouble. It went well at first, but Robby and Jimmy started getting restless. Then Paul and Carmen joined in. I was usually the quiet one of the group but with the others egging me on, I joined in. About the time I started acting out too, that's when mom had decided she had enough and told us so in no uncertain terms. She pointed to some stairs which I assume went to offices or and upstairs stockroom and told us to sit down and don't move till she comes back. She located my aunt and granny, and left her cart with them and some money, then came back for us. She marched us to the shoe department which was near the back of the store. Then she had us all stand in front of her and said, "I'm going to blister your bare little butts in front of God and Everybody." She made Jimmy drop his pants and underwear and get across her lap and gave him a good hard spanking, then let him up, as he was crying, pulling up his pants and rubbing his butt, she made me bare my butt and turn over her knee. She spanked me as she had Jimmy. After she had finished with me and I was pulling up my pants crying, it was Robby's turn. There were only a few people standing around when I got my spanking, but by the time she finished spanking Robby, the crowd had gotten much larger. My brother was next and like us had to bare his butt and lay over mom's knee even though at eleven he was nearly as tall as she was. If I hadn't been so embarrassed and my butt hurting from my own spanking, I might have laughed seeing him get spanked like that. Then when she finished with him it was Carmen's turn. She tried to beg off saying she was too old to be spanked and mom pretty much let her know she was old enough to know better than made her pull her pants and panties down and get over her knee. She cried more that the rest of us did, although I think it was as much from the embarrassment of being spanked bare in public at thirteen as it was the pain.

As far as the reaction of the crowd. Most of the people seemed to approve, but there was one woman who confronted mom talking about what she did was abuse. Mom saw the kids this woman had with her, who were acting a whole lot worse that we had and her basically ignoring them, then she said, "Are those your kids?" She said that they were. Mom said, "Well you raise your brats your way, and I take care of my kids, my way." then she rounded us up to head out of the store. We also ended up getting another spanking each with we got back to my granny's house.

To let you know a little more background on this event. It actually started several months before that day. After school let out both were I grew up and where my cousins lived, we had a get together at my granny's house and mom, my aunt and granny, decided to make a trip to Louisville to do our summer shopping. There was one more child who wasn't mentioned in this story, which was my little sister Karen, who was only three at the time. She ended up staying with grandma who was actually my great grandmother. Anyway while we were at Zayre's in Louisville the five of us started acting up in the store. Mom got fed up with our antics after several warnings, took us all to the car where we each got our bare butts spanked. With a warning that if we ever pulled anything like that again, she would spank us in the store, in front of God and Everybody. Of course, a few months later, It happened.

Alex, I enjoyed reading the account of the spanking incident the way you presented it by the way. You have a flair for storytelling. It's also nice to know that others have passed it on.
