 Couple of other examples I've come across over the years:

A 12 year old boy is caught having been somewhere he wasn't supposed to be after school, and when confronted he tells the truth. Because of the honesty, the father decides not to use the belt, but because of the dishonesty in going somewhere without permission, he sentences him to a bare bottom spanking in front of his 2 younger sisters. The boy pleads for mercy but the dad makes no concession for his blushing, despite being well aware that his son is a modest boy. The father calmly states to his son that he wants him to remember what he did and where he was when he was punished for it. Brazenly, he states that he knows the boy will never forget being seen naked below the waist by his sisters while taking a hand spanking. The blushing boy has no response and looks down in shame, knowing that his father is correct and he is powerless to do anything about it. The father notes that it looks like his son might even start crying on the spot, and doubts his decision for the moment, but upon discussion with the boy's mother, his wife, decides that the involuntary reaction of shame indicates that the punishment will be very effective on the boy. The semi-public humiliation is agreed upon, and enforced when all of the family has returned home. It lasts a very short period of time as the boy quickly bursts into genuine tears of shame and humiliation just a few smacks into the punishment. The dad proceeds for a bit but his wife gives him a silent gesture of approval that the point has been made. The boy is allowed to redress but is sent to his room for the evening, which you'd think is a place he'd be most happy to hide at that particular point in his life.

Some time in the 1960s, a group of children (cousins, some are siblings) aged 7-12 cause a bunch of boisterous trouble in a store at the mall. Eventually the woman taking care of all them, and mother to 2 of the 5 children, loses her temper and sentences all 5 children to a public spanking there in the store, and with this woman there is no form of spanking other than 'bare bottom' so despite the public element of the punishment and the presence of several witnesses she declares that pants and underwear will be coming down for all 5 kids, including the 11 year old boy and 12 year old girl who naturally blush upon being informed of their impending public humiliation. The element of this punishment I find particularly cruel was the woman spanks the children youngest to oldest so the tween kids who would exhibit the most modesty were forced to wait while the little kids took their spankings while they watched the crowd grow larger and larger with people who all were going to, and eventually do, see their naked lower halves. The woman also spanks each of the children with her bare hand, hard but also nice and slow, taking her time. With the oldest two she verbally dresses them down before ordering them to actually undress and bare their bottoms in front of the crowd of what the author (8 years old at the time, spanked 2nd before the crowd got too big and "one of the lucky ones") estimates to be around 30 people. The two tweens, in an attempt to preserve a shred of dignity, grit their teeth and attempt to hold back the tears, but the woman merely extends the punishment longer and smacks harder and harder until the dam bursts and the tears flow down the cheeks of both preteen in front of the very approving audience which includes a few kids around their age, although the author is relieved he didn't recognize any of them.
