I do have a few fond memories where I spent hours outside on the street playing with friends and nobody cared a couple of us where just running around naked. Norms are different of course in some rural areas. I moved from Florida, but attitudes towards boys that have not reached puberty were different and tolerant. We had a nice boarding stable for part of family income and lakes nearby. I would swim out to floating docks and spend day naked. PE for school gym was different too. This not mentioned much anymore but swimming was always nude for boys. It playing sports it was always shirtless but track was nude too in summer but just for boys. School was small and group of friends was smaller. I played with mix of 6 boys and girls and knew another bunch causally. No reason to be so hot and more comfy. One of the girls brother did same thing at her house too. Most nudity was playing in backyards after school or in summer. Being brought somewhere was a treat. On stable farm I would be naked under 12 in summer many days. PE was nude for swimming. If we used pool annex for calisthenics it was always nude too as last class of day. That may explain difference in attitudes. I grew up in very quiet heavily wooded area with three girls and one other boy in area. We skinny dipped but boys did way more as customary for area. It was 1970s but so remot still seemed like early 60s so boys naked on beaches was normal still. I was told top play naked in summer up till 12 even. I wanted to anyway.
