Chapter One
Dindra sat one a rock outside of Castle Floret.She threw a rock,watching it splash into the moat on the east side of the castle.A voice called from behind her."Dindra",the voice called,"quick march in here."Dindra sighed.Uncle Foghill.She did as she was told and reported to him.She stood before him,ears erect,chest out."Sah",she said,"reportin' in,sah!"Commander Foghill was one of the former Meldrum the Magnificent's nephews.His brother,Runtwold,had found a pretty wife,Flowereye,and had a brood of sixteen leverets.Dindra was the second youngest of the brood.Being that,she was,as Commander Foghill put it,"..worthy to receive responsebilities."And she had.Just the day before,she had spotted a fleet of corsair ships and reported in.As it turned out,though no one in Southsward knew it but had a pretty good idea of it,the ships,headed by the son of Urgan Nagru,Gurnad Danurg,were planning on taking over Southsward.This,unfortunatly,was the beginging of the second Battle of Southsward.
