Subject: Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2011 Screenings-Press Release Author: Trini77 [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: Thursday, March 31, 03:50:03pm Author Host/IP: cuscon3653.tstt.net.tt/209.94.215.175 Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe 2011 On Behalf of the National Director and Franchise Holder of Miss Trinidad & Tobago Universe pageant, Mr. Ian Lee, we would like to announce the dates for the 2011 selection process to crown a new Miss Trinidad & Tobago to represent our twin islands at the Miss Universe Pageant in Sao Paulo Brazil in September of this year. The First screening will be held this Saturday 2nd April 2011 at the San Fernando City Hall, Harris Promenade. Contestants are asked to register between 10am and 2pm, and all hopefuls must meet the following criteria: Criteria for Contestants 1. Must be 18 ¨C 27 years old (as of end of February 2011) 2. Must be a National of Trinidad & Tobago 3. Contestant must never have been married nor ever have given birth to a child, nor be a parent 4. Registration info needed ¨C DOB (must produce government issued ID or birth certificate), Contact information 5. Must wear open toed high heeled shoes (NO Wedges) 6. Must walk with a two©piece swim suit and a beach cover©up / wrap 7. Must sign TV release forms There will also be screenings held in Tobago on Saturday 9th April and Saturday 16th April in Port of Spain at venues still to be confirmed in a subsequent release. The 2011 Miss T&T Universe coordinating committee this year comprises of professionals with over forty years of experience in pageantry, fashion and beauty, photography, modeling, marketing, advertising, event management and design. On an aside, I am still yawning at the 3 finalists for MWorldT&T already selected. I am waiting for the transformation. I hope a stunner actually makes it to the top this time around. From the 15 semifinalists, I guess about 7 or 8 will be chosen for the finals. At least Gabby's presence indicates that we are already in a good place and a couple of the other San Fernando ladies also looked interesting so lets hope we make a real impact this year at MU2011. I see MWT&T is scheduled for May 6th at the Cascadia Hotel. I still am hoping the franchise holder gets his act together. You cannot tell me you want to use over $150,000 of taxpayer's cash to train another clapper. I am really fed up after the last two editions of MWT&T. The one lady (Ms. Abrahams, I believe) who actually was competitively beautiful was not even able to crack the top 5 at last year's pageant. What a horror! With respect to the local MU team, I hope they realize that Trinidad and Tobago has a relatively small population and we need to place the best ladies in the final regardless of if they already competed in a previous pageant. They blanked Jenna last year and ended up just clapping at the MU final. Choose the best without bias this time. The only delegate who I was sure could make a strong grab for the top 15 at last year's MUTT was Ms. Arima. Ms. Plymouth was beautiful but she needs a boob job-plane and simple.
