The pre-show was good. We got to see and hear from a couple of people involved with the pageant this year. I was relieved to hear that Adrian say the pageant is not just about crowing the best of the night but who they think has the right POTENTIAL to place at the international event when given the right amount of preparation.

The franchise holder, Mr. Ragunanan, sounded like a bundle of nerves. I don’t like this at all considering that when our rep. is at the international event, he is the one she should be able to call on to receive some levelheaded support and direction.

Now for the actual show that started around 8:30 pm. I think the stage set-up was the best I have seen in years. It seemed to offer more intimate contact with the audience than in previous years. The minimalist design was excellent and surprisingly very sophisticated. [GREAT JOB CALVIN FRENCH].

Now I have to say that I tried to leave all my preconceived notions of the delegates behind and view the pageant with the least amount of bias as I could in order to judge which ladies were indeed top beauty pageant material.

I liked the opening presentation of delegates- very tastefully done. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that facially, Nariba is indeed stunning, and Anna Rosa does command some attention. My gosh, facially Brittany is a stunner (she has a very soft, delicate face with great appeal that Mrs. Morley would love- her photos do not do her justice). Lee Ann looked good but I did not like the hair at all. The biggest shock was that Vaneeta was extremely short.

Final Top Model fashion walk –HANDS DOWN NARIBA NAILED THIS. NO ONE CAME CLOSE! I COULD SEE HER DOING VERY WELL ON THE INTERNATIONAL SCENE.

For SS, my top 3 in order were:
(1) Lee Ann Forbes – best body hands down but the hairstyle is certainly not the best; she is indeed a top 10 competitor for the BB title. She certainly would not look out of place in the top 3 or even as the winner of MWBB 2011.
(2) Brittany Wiltshire - I know, I was shocked also. She needs to lose about 10 lbs and do some real work slimming down her lower body but I could see the potential.

(3) Anna Rosa – looked good but I am not too sure if she could really compete against 100 ladies and stand out in SS.

I really did not care for the rest. Nariba, from her boobs upwards, looked great in SS but below her boobs she is 100% model.

For the evening gown my top 4 picks:
(1) Lee Ann Forbes (by a mile)
(2) Brittany Wiltshire (face looks really good, but her lower body looks fat, so I understand why she did not make the top 4; additionally she needs to learn how to walk in a gown onstage; I also hated the dress)
(3) Nariba – like any top model she knows how to work it but her body looks too thin to really make an impact at MW.
(4) Anna Rosa

My top 4 were the aforementioned ladies in the same order of their gown placements. The ONLY one I was sure was MW material was Lee Ann at this point and I wanted Brittany (if she is at least 5’7”) to lose some serious lbs and slim down her lower body and come back for next year’s MWTT.

As we all know, Lee Ann and Anna Rosa made it to the final 4 along with Vaneeta and Nisa. Personally, Vaneeta’s short stature was extremely distracting so I ruled her out immediately (she’ about 5’5”). I don’t see the appeal with Nisa but she does have a very fit body and one of the more difficult gowns to wear.
The only person who gave the best response to her final question was Nisa while Anna Rosa was the worst. Vaneeta’s reply was good but in my opinion she got the easiest answer. Lee Ann’s answer was a mess but O.K. Lee Ann and Anna Rosa seemed like a bundle of nerves the minute they opened their mouths to answer their final question.

Realistically though, Lee Ann was the only one out of this top 4 who could place at MW. Thank goodness she won. The judges made the right choice.

Now a couple of critical comments to the MWTT pageant team: Why the heck is a delegate in SS with her hair covering part of her shoulder and worst of all a boob? That’s like the worst thing to do other than falling during the SS competition- talk about begging for a low SS score. Poor Crystal! Additionally, I did not like Lee Ann’s hairstyle at the finals. The need to get a better look for her and I suggest bigger hair. The hair experts would probably make other suggestions she could try. Imagewise, groom her for a win like Russia 2008. Moreover, Lee Ann needs both serious interview prep. and greater stage confidence when answering questions. Adrian, the whole country is depending on you to help Lee Ann nail her MW interviews.

Congrats to all the ladies for a fantastic show and to the two fantastic winners of the night – Lee Ann and Nariba. They both will do excellent in their respective paths.
P.S. Despite the many hiccups, the male host was excellent since I cannot remember any host/hostess in recent years bringing so much energy and interest to the proceedings. In my opinion, it was much better than the past few year’s productions including MUTT2010. Finally, we have an inclination that Mr. Ragunanan is getting serious about how taxpayer’s dollars are being spent.
