Now that the Anya disaster is over and behind us. What do you guys think about Gabrielle's chances at MW. I think she is indeed a very beautiful girl. I mean in her candids you can tell she is beautiful. Other than Anya who's candids made her look, well... not so good. I was truly disappointed with Anya, but I have this feeling that maybe Gabirlle stands a good chance of doing well. One out of two for PE&A is not that bad. Although I hate the though that T&T has not placed in the last 2 editions of MU. I can;t help but think how much different it may of been if Makeda, June or maybe Keisha Quash was at MU. But, its in the past now and we can only look ahead. Come on guys lets rebound and rally behind Gabrielle. She is definitely better than Anya, especially in the beauty department. MW is about a mont and a half away.

Hey Trini77, where are those pictures of Gabrielle?

I hope I don't come across as rude, but I think you need to ease up on Anya. Generally every year, one or 2 strong favorites fails to make the cut. I am pretty sure India, Korea, and T&T probably made the top 15 in the prelims but not top 9 so they were replaced. Even if this is not the case, our girl worked her butt off for US-the T&T people she loves so much. Do you really think Gabby, June or Keisha quash would have fared better-heck no. Gabby looks even shorter and thicker than Keisha-pretty face does not equal good competitor. June-when she opened her mouth at MT&T it was a complete disaster-they would need nearly a whole year to prepare her properly for the interview and let's be real-who the heck from the Asian judges would place a dark skinned MT&T in the top 9?

Anya was the right choice based on what we already knew about MU but based on who made it this year it is obvious that the pageant went in a totally different direction this year. It's not Anya's fault-she was phenomenal and I will always love her as MT&TU2008-one of the best we have ever had. Auntie Kim could not have chose a better girl herself.

I hope Peter and company does their own scounting b/4 the prelims. Where the heck are the strong women of Indian descent-yes we know Valene was great but come on I am of east indian descent and I have seen ladies in T&T who would be a better fit for MU than Valene herself.

As for Gabby at MW, she has her freakin' work cut out for her but she is still in the running for the regional title.

well, I didnt say Gabby would of done better at Miss Universe. I dont think so at all. But, even though June seemed to have a speech problem she could of been groomed. Makeda was not bad either.Keisha was a catwalk diva and had a nice face, but was also short. So, I dont know about her. But, I think she might have done better. I have asked myself the same question. Why isnt there more women of Indian decent as Miss T&T. I am sure there are many stunning gorgeous Indian women who can do great at Miss Universe. Valene is a good example the potential. And I know there are many more who are more competitive and beautiful than Valene.

I must disagree with you, after watching the prelim videos I just gotta keep it real. I wont just say something because im a trini so I'll just think everthing our reps do is perfection. She just wasnt strong enough. the ladies who made it were just stronger than she was. and thats ok..that doesnt take anything away from her, cause i still think she is a fab young woman but this just wasnt for her.Im sure she tried her best. and your cant really wonder about how the others would have done cause the fact is we wont ever know.

Its not matter if she is a fab young woman or not. She did her best and is a good roll model. No one never said she wasnt. But, she just was not Miss Universe materiel. And everyone on this forum knows that. I have never been a person to be very critical. But, PE&A are begining to move away or rather go astray from where they started in 2004. I surely hope they can regroup and foucs on their flaws and fix them. I like Anya alot, She is not by any means the worst T&T has sent. But, guys come on. She just didnt have it. Sorry, but got to keep it real
