I have to agree with both of you. I personally can't stand David Letterman's idea of what's funny. (My husband likes him--I don't particularly like everything he does.) Johnny Carson was funny--Letterman isn't because tries to hard and depends on ridicule for his jokes. Get's a little tired and boring for me after a VERY short while. Jay Leno is a little better--at least he seems to be nicer. The only time I watch either one is if I want to see one of their guests. I usually turn on QVC or PBS after the news--I think the 'Red Green Show' is really funny, as are 'Keeping Up Appearances' and 'Are You Being Served?' Then of course there is always the 'Antiques Roadshow.'

DD did seem to bring up the subject first, but I thought he was trying to use the lawsuit as a way to not discuss the end of the XFiles or maybe as an excuse for not wanting to do any more XFiles. (I have a suggestion under Detoured's post on Letterman that might work to extend XFiles into more seasons.)

The other thing I wondered about was how DD looked. Anybody have any ideas on DD "looking like he just got off his airplane and had to run by foot all the way to the DL show"?
Maybe I just don't have a "cool" sense of style but that's what I thought of when he stepped out on the stage.
