As much as I love Funny Mulder I cling to angsty Mulder. And I think DD is so good at it. I really wish he'd consider doing a serious drama instead of this bent toward having a comedy career he seems to be on.

I think the Gunmen are Mulder's good friends and he and Skinner have a frierndship although they've had their ups and downs. But I think Scully is the one true person he trusts completely. I wonder if this is CC's ultimate goal? To have Mulder and Scully eventually lose all their family members so that it would indeed be like they are they ony two left for each other.
