Kind of a sleeper ep and one of my favorites from season 7. I can see Sig's point that it was lite but I agree with Devlin that it wasn't silly-lite like Arcadia. This had an interesting story and was genuinely charming.

And you're not imagining things in thinking that Mulder and Scully seemed extra happy. I'd wondered if DD and GA just decided to play it this way of their own accord. Both this one and Rush seemed to have a feel of post Millennium kiss fallout. Maybe something else happened, maybe it didn't, or M&S just have been feeling closer since the kiss Maybe because they helped thwart the end of the world with Frank Black.

But I just love it when Mulder and Scully are in the episodes together a lot and playing off each other so that's one answer to Sig's question on how to like the ep better. And you'll be saying goodbye to cheery Mulder and Scully next week so let's enjoy it for awhile.

And you sound like more of a Scully fan Sig so I won't try to garner points for the ep by pointing out the nice wet Mulder we got!

A couple questions...did any of you think Scully saying she liked baseball too was related to her batting lesson in The Unnatural?

And something I thought was confusing...didn't Scully say in the beginning that the guy might have just been lucky and Mulder orignally dismissed that notion? And yet that turned ouit to be the case. So shouldn't Scully have gotten credit for this one? Instead it seemed like Mulder claimed (once again) to have figured it out.

I liked Mulder's "whaa ha!" door kicking during his recreation of the events. :-)

Well at least you guys got a much better episode than the horrible Surekill we got the same night! There's reason to like The Goldberg Variation right there.
