Hey, CW, glad you started this. I watched too and think I found a new appreciation for this episode. I never really dis-liked it as a whole, just parts of it, but I liked it better this time maybe because of the eps. after it, I don't know. I had trouble esp. with the part you talk about. Mulder is suddenly recognized as the alien/human hybrid they've spent years trying to develop and one is just handed to them, and would you believe it's Mulder!? Oh well, it does play out nicely connecting Mulder with his exposure with the black oil in that earlier episode. It just seemed alittle too pat for me. And I'm still having trouble with how the rubbing could affect him so greatly anyway...

I think the transfer didn't take because of the infection possibility as well as the incompatibility aspects. Or perhaps that part of the tissue transfered is just too fragile and didn't survive, or survive for long. Just guessing, on my part.

As for CSM being Mulder's dad, I really haven't decided. I think in the scene where he tells Mulder that piece of info that Mulder is already into his hallucinating/dreaming/drug induced false memoires/hynosis - whatever - state. Anyway, it was sort of anticlimatic since we as well as Mulder I think, had pretty much figured it out anyway.

I have suspected since The Pilot that Mulder could possibly be an abductee. I have waited 7 long years for some little sign that he was. He could have been abducted as recently as Little Green Men, for all we know. The name change on the folder was just too inconclusive to be proof. He could simply have been the orginal choice and been switched with Sam at he last moment as has been implied. His flashbacks in "Demons", if they are to be trusted, show his parents in a bitter fight over Sam being "given up" with the CSM present. But I like to think that part of his drive, his quest to find Sam -and those that took her - is due to some remnant, some fragment of memory he can't recognize of his own abduction. Or, he is like Crissy in Jose Chung who had false memories implanted over the real ones.

All good questions and ideas, CW. We've been told and shown how important Mulder is to the Project. This episode certainly cast alittle more light on the subject hum?

I'm still wondering if Krycek is immune to the coming Plague too. It would certainly seem so due to his exposure at Tunguska, as well as many other prisoners. And Scully and Marita, too? Or just Mulder because of his special, perhaps alien dna influences? I'm sure all this has been hashed out many times, but I've slept since then....Anyone care to explain their opinions again?

BTW, I really liked Scully's longer hair in this episode.
Chantal
