Ha! Made you look! Seriously, though, I loved this episode! I liked the idea for the monster, the COPS style was really interesting and well done, M&S were spectacular, the other actors were great (esp. Steve and Edie & the woman cop), it was filled with one-liners, and besides it was ****ing hilarious! Oh ****, I guess this forum isn't live.

Actually, I wonder if there can be any characters on TXF that DON"T have elements of M&S in them. I loved when Wetzel (spelled like pretzel, cuz everyone else is doing it that way) and Mulder were talking in the car about how hard it would be to live down the "crazy" reputation in law enforcement. Oh! At first, I thought that Wetzel might have been too pretty, but now I understand why he had to be young, good-looking, and competent, don't you? Edie and Mulder both kinda preened for the camera. Steve and Edie will remain together no matter what threatens from outside or how many insecurities there are on the inside. And I'm sure that, at least once, Scully has wanted to say to Mulder "What the **** are you talking about?"

X-Cops was a great way for CC to answer the question: How would M&S react if they knew they were on camera? Scully was terrific! This contends with Orison for my favorite Scully ep this season. I loved how she hid her face behind doors, walked away from cameras, and even slammed the back door of her and Mulder's car and told the cameramen to "ride with someone else." I don't know how anyone could not love Autopsy Scully-- "The FBI has nothing to hide." And my favorite line in this episode was Scully finding the camera guys in the closet- "I hate you guys!" LOLOLOL! I know you guys were upset about Mulder telling Scully to fill up the tank. I guess you missed it, but Scully did flip Mulder off after that. I wish! But I'll assume that was just off camera.
Camera-conscious Mulder was great too! I loved all those little self-conscious smiles. He has a wonderful smile . Actually, Scully smiled a lot too, although her smile was more of a condescending, get-the-****-out-of-my-face smile. I'm getting bleeped a lot here, guys! Anyway, this episode might have set a M&S smile record.

I can't stand COPS normally, but this wasn't just COPS with M&S thrown into it, nor was it just M&S aware of COPS cameras following them around. And I do agree that S7 has seen a disappointing lack of imagination regarding XF locations, but I don't think you can argue lack of imagination for this episode.

I don't read fanfic often, but I'd be interested to see what comes out as a result of this episode. Maybe Skinner's reaction when this COPS episode actually airs. Or Scully's family's reaction! Or the gunmen's! Ah,I can just hear Langley singing the "Bad Boys" song.

And the thing I love most about this episode? COPS is real, and Mulder and Scully were on COPS, so this proves definitively that M&S are real. HA!
