This is a pretty wild claim, Bernie. I guess I just find "witchcraft" to be a bit too easy and simplistic an answer to why some things seem to happen to people's detriment.

I was once told by a couple of "spiritualists" a believing friend took me to see that someone put a curse on ME to make my life spin wheels and get nowhere. The only problem with it was that each of them had a different reason for this "curse". Needless to say it made me very skeptical. They told me I had to do something specific to get this so-called curse off of me and make my life return to "normal". I just thought "what the hey? nothing ventured, nothing gained" and did as they instructed. However, nothing changed in my life, and everything continued as it always did.

Sooooooo, curses may be "real" in some people's minds, but so far I haven't found in my own experience anything worse than mere "Evil Fortune" as the cause for dire events to happen in the lives of good people. Dire fates seem to happen to the good, the bad, the just and the unjust impartially. Just saying.
