Hi Old Spice:

Thanks for for the update on "Ruby Tuesday". I look forward to hearing what Brian had to say... Believe me, I wish there were more quotes out there from Brian. Very hard to find.

I looked up on Google Ian Stewart/Brian Jones and found some interesting comments/stories from Ian. I have read enough to know that Ian was much more honest, regarding Brian, than any of the other band members besides Bill. He mentions how Brian was the one in the band who had "more to say" regarding any topic (quotes for the press) than the other band members (the article was written by Ian in 1965), including Mick. Too true. A brilliant musician/man really. It's amazing, by 1966, ABCKO/ALO were already fazing Brian out of the band and only allowing Mick and Keith to be interviewed. I know this by reading Bill's Book "Stone Alone". If there was anything Brian needed (more than anything else) was attention, respect, and love of course. And to have that 'lifeline/feeling of importance', taken away, then it was another free fall in terms of self importance or his 'standing' in the band.

Poor Brian's fault was he lost all of his confidence in himself. The one thing he ALWAYS knew was correct was the Rolling Stones. I remember Charlie saying this, about having to kick Brian out of the band... the hardest thing he ever had to do, in the video 25x5. Brian's true baby,... and he never doubted the band one time. Everything else, was the big question mark for him (or was not sure about). If he hadn't taken all of those pills!! They are horrible and I can see why he fell down the slope. It only took one time for me to realize I could NOT handle the pills at all.

One time in college I took the drug. I could not function after a few hours and was out on a date!! We were drinking and having a great time and the the next thing I knew I was in my bed the next day!! Needless to say I never had a date with the girl again. She lost total respect for me and I couldn't blame her one bit!! Lol. I tried it to see what would happen and I discovered you lose all function of your legs and you become like jelly. Really a freaked out experience!! I was an athlete in college so I thought I could handle anything. I was wrong. Lol.

Anyway, thanks again "Old Spice" for being so pleasant and answering my question the best you could. You are a great (for some time now) addition to this board!!

George
