I wish I COULD tell you where to find that article, but I think it was somewhere in the Huff Post on AOL, and I didn't put the page address in my favorites folder. I really AM sorry about that...a significant oversight, since I see you didn't read it.

I think the author was saying that the Stones made a huge number of jamming session tapes back in the 60's, where Brian supposedly conjured up a lot of musical ideas for the future. These were what he (or she?) was referring to when saying "the Brian Jones tapes". I have no idea if this writer was correct on that, but since the Huff Post is an English periodical, I just assumed (bad idea?) that the info was verifiable.

Who knows, maybe he's one of those folks who think some of the Stones hit's of the 70's came out of the tapes that went missing from Brian's house after he died. That's another controversy I don't want to get into right now, since it's part of the arsenal of the "conspiracy theorists". Just saying.
