First of all, no, I didn't think you were being too harsh, so no need to aplologize. I wasn't really referring to every piece the band recorded at that time, just the ones I remember as big hits. There were plenty of recordings on the albums that were never played on my radio stations, so you're coming from a whole group of works I never even heard!

Now that that's settled, back to ALO. Though it's true Brian's decline had dozens of factors, from all I read and remember, Andrew's original "contribution" to it is very underplayed these days. It's like Mr. O. has been swept asside as insignificant, since he played no part in the final chapter. Not that he doesn't deserve that, you understand... ;) (snicker)...but his massive influence on Mick and Keith's eventual betrayal of Brian, and his demoting the band's founder to the back burner, seems to be just shrugged at by everyone. Amazing!

P.S. This post is getting a bit far to the "inside"...should we start another post on Andrew? Is anyone out there interested in discussing this old has-been, or is everyone busy "shrugging him off"? Yuk, yuk, yuk! :) :) :)
