I was not "locked up" as you put it in a cloistered Monastery. I willingly took this life on myself as I believe from a calling of God. Like any life it has it's ups and downs but to be near God is my happinesss. I do have bouts of bipolar disorder but I've been through therapy and have meds that help me a great deal. I am very happy and content in my life here.
It's sad that Brian didn't have some of these meds to help him through his doldrums.
