Pointing out and driving home the inequities of the defenseless (being dead is pretty much as defenseless as one can get) is a good way to feel better about one's own inequities, shortcomings, foibles and fuck ups. Quite often the unforgivably pathetic depictions of Brian are a fairly accurate description of their own behavior.

It is the cheating man who is insanely jealous of an innocent partner and the perpetual liar who is the one with insurmountable, unjustifiable "trust issues". If someone tells you that they can't trust you what they are really saying is they can't trust themselves. So yes, pot meeteth kettle, indeed.
