Crystal Gayle is gorgeous! I have blond, wavy-ish hair and greeny- blue eyes, though, so I don't look like her. I was just looking at a photo on the computer of me when I had hair down to me bum. I really miss that hair. One ill-fated day, whilst hoovering the car with a little portable DirtBuster, it went vvvvllllloooomp! I turned it off about a 1/2 second later, but it still got about 6 inches of it. It tore the hell out of the belt! Burning rubber and burning hair is quite the combination of smell.

I thought about just leaving it on there and living with a dirtbuster and its 15 foot lead on my hair rather than cut my hair - sort of a living homage to Keith Richards - but then I figured it would be difficult to get a good night's sleep with a vacuum cleaner on my head, so I had my girl take off 6 inches as well as the Dirtbuster. It was still quite long - about an inch or 2 above the waist. I kept it like that for years and now I have the courage to grow it back to my bum again. I just have to stay away from hoovers.

I have a great deal of experience with hotels. I would say it is about 50/50 between business and pleasure. My most disappointing (and expensive) experience was with the Dorchester. I had a nice room with a great view of Hyde Park, but everything else just sucked, including the massage. I'll save you all the whinging because I could go ON about it.

I forgot about the Westin products - OMG. The Wyndham used to have these soaps that were green and shaped like little leaves. They were so cute that you didn't want to use them but they smelled gloriously and were great on the skin.. Then one day they just disappeared and were replaced by Blue Sky spa products which stink and made my hair all silly.

I thought I lost my little soaps forever until I booked a room at the Westin and walked in the bathroom. There it was! My little leaf soap! I ran out into the hall where I saw the maid's cart and there were hundreds of them. I said, "My little darlings! You've come back to me!" and then proceeded to fill my pockets with soap and as I had 2 fistfuls of soap, I looked up to see the maid staring at me, mouth agape, and I blurted out the only thing I could think of at the time which absolutely reeked of inanity - "I have to wash my dog!!!" I bolted back down the hall and locked the door. I was SO embarrassed. The next day she left 6 extra soaps in my room. I tipped her 10 bucks to keep her mouth shut.

But that is the BEST smelling (tastes may vary) shampoo, soap, conditioner and lotion I have ever known. You wash your hair with it and can smell it all day - very fresh - and the shampoo is actually good on the hair. It's called White Tea Aloe from Heavenly Spa.

OK, I am officially done going on about bath products from hotels.
